Slot Car Derby is a 4-Player minigame from the original Mario Party on the Nintendo 64.
Overview
Control Stick (Release): Slow down
Race around the track and be the first to complete four laps! It isn’t all about speed — going too fast will make you spin out, especially when making sharp turns.
Each time you play Slot Car Derby, you’ll play one of two available tracks at random. Although each player stays attached to their lane, there’s a section of the track near the finish line that’ll shift everyone down a lane. See, it is fair!
A version of Slot Car Derby returns in Mario Party 2. The version from Mario Party 2 was later remade in Mario Party: The Top 100 and Mario Party Superstars.

- The curves of the road that make you spin out fast are all marked with a white/red line. When passing these areas, slow down by not pushing on the control stick. Doing so allows you to get past the harsh curves without spinning out.
