Crane Game is a 1-vs-3 minigame from the original Mario Party on the Nintendo 64.
Overview
A: Drop crane
A (repeatedly): Hold on
Are you the solo player? Great! You get to keep most of your mobility as move around while attached to a crane. Meanwhile, the team of three has taken the form of stuffed dolls and are nearly paralyzed. Not great.
The outcome of this minigame is all up to the single player. Drop down on one item in the room, mash the A button to secure your grip as you grab the item, and drop it into the pipe to get your prize. The treasure chest is worth 10 coins, the bag is worth five coins, and the coin is well represented by netting you a single coin. If you manage to get a player into the pipe, you’ll steal a third of their total coin count. If you drop an item before it gets into the pipe, the minigame will end right then and there.
A version of Crane Game returns in Mario Party 2. Instead of picking a single item to drop in the pipe, the solo player must collect all three opponents before time runs out.

- If you know a human target has good mashing, it might be sensible to avoid them and try an easier prey, or even the treasure chest, which will always yield 10 coins.
