If you’ve played musical chairs before, then you should have a good idea of Musical Mushroom. Once the game starts, all the characters will circle the mushrooms in the center. When the music cuts out, all players gain control of their character and the first to grab the treasure chest above the mushroom in the middle gets to keep all the coins.
The blue mushrooms are there to help you jump up to the higher mushroom in the middle, but it’s possible to jump to the middle mushroom from the ground. You can also punch and attack your opponents, but the minigame ends so quickly that you probably won’t reach them in time.

- You do not get any penalty for a false start so just angle your joystick in the direction of the treasure chest while you wait for the music to end to start running toward it instantly.
