Balloon Burst is a 4-Player minigame from the original Mario Party on the Nintendo 64.
Overview
B or Z: Pull up pump
Simple minigame, and the name explains it all. In Balloon Burst, pump up your Bowser balloon until it bursts. First player to have their Bowser inflatable explode wins.
Alternate between two buttons to pump your balloon. When you see your pump flash, that means you’ve reached the maximum height of your pump. When you push down and the pump turns fully red, that means you’ve pushed it down to its limit. It’s possible to pump in smaller increments, so knowing this is important!
One of the events when landing on a Bowser Space involves playing “Bowser Balloon Burst,” which is essentially the same minigame. Be the first to pop your balloon and you won’t have to hand over any coins to Bowser.
A version of this minigame returns in Mario Party 2.

- Be quick but also make sure you’re pumping as much air as possible. When your character glows, that means you are pumping the highest amount of air you can.
