Mario Bandstand is a 4-Player minigame from the original Mario Party on the Nintendo 64.
Overview
A: Play
You’re in a band and you gotta hit all your notes. In Mario Bandstand, watch the slider and hit your instrument the moment the slider hovers over your assigned note. There are always three rounds. Your notes in the two latter rounds will not always line up with the other player’s notes, so be sure to pay attention to your own instrument.
Now, one player will randomly be selected to play the role of the conductor. As the conductor, you’ll move the control stick in the direction that the slider moves. It doesn’t matter for gameplay all that much, but each character gets a different instrument. They include the violin player, the trumpet player, and the drummer.
A version of this minigame returns in Mario Party 2.

- To achieve the best results, you should press the button or move the joystick right on rhythm. That’s when the box hovers over the note at dead center.
