Bash ‘n’ Cash is a 1-vs-3 minigame from the original Mario Party on the Nintendo 64.

One player dons the Bowser Suit while the three other players get hammers. See where this is going? For 30 seconds, the team of three get to whack the solo player as many times as they can, and each hit will cause the solo player to drop either a coin or a money bag. Any dropped cash will start to move along the ground, and anyone can grab it — including the solo player it was originally stolen from! Whatever each player collected during the minigame is what they take back to the board. If the solo player loses all their coins, the minigame will immediately stop.

Landing on a Bowser Space and activating the Bash ‘n’ Cash event will have you playing this minigame with a small twist. Instead of of the team of players stealing coins from the solo player, any stolen coins will go directly to Bowser. Tough look for the three players if they go all out against you.

Strategies

  • Your best strategy is to bounce on your opponents’ heads. If you do good enough, you can even just keep bouncing until the end of the minigame! If you miss a bounce, move away first since you have a cooldown after every jump then bounce again!

  • As the Bowser player in the Bowser version of this minigame, don’t forget to get hit once on purpose or you’ll loose 15 coins!!
