Nintendo Power – New Mario Party 9 Info

Bob-omb Factory is the latest board to be announced. It will feature moving conveyor belts
Special Dice Blocks can be used to manipulate the outcome of a roll. These include dice blocks that let you roll a 0 or 1, and a dice block that rolls higher numbers.
Toad Road will feature a bridge where players must roll high numbers in order to pass. If not successful, players will be sent to a Mini-Ztar filled canyon.
Each board has a boss as well as a miniboss.
Bob-omb Factory’s boss is indeed the Whomp seen in images.
The Whomp boss will have “each player stand on a rotating platform while attempting to avoid being flattened by the stone creature”.
A new minigame involves players in a memory game in which players must “quickly count a horde of Goombas as they rush into their homes”.

A NeoGaf post claims that GameStop has Mario Party 9 listed for a Friday, March 2, 2011 release. Forum member Dugger already claimed the same news weeks before. Could this be the real deal or just another placeholder date?

The tweets, along with the entire @HudsonSoftLtd account, have been deemed fake. Any tweet regrading Mario Party 9 is not true and holds no legitimacy. The real Hudson twitter can be found at @HudsonSoft on Twitter. Still, this brings about some excitement for our rather silent game. It’s also a relief to know that ND Cube is not out of the picture.

The scan from the Nintendo Power which hinted at a new Mario game was not Mario Party 9. In fact it was not a Mario game at all, it was a sequel to last year’s The Conduit. For now all we can do is wait for E3 2010 (June 15-17) and hope Mario Party 9 is announced then.

A scan from the latest Nintendo Power states that a new Wii game will be unveiled in the next issue. The image placed next to the statement shows promotional art of Mario from Mario Party 8. Could this be the next Mario Party?

The voice of Mario in several of his games, Charles Martinet, has tweeted saying “Awesome new Mario Game! And it’s not New Super Mario Bros. Wii, and it’s not Super Mario Galaxy 2, but it’s going to be crazy fun!”

In a previous tweet he said he is going to record a new Mario game so what could this game be? An entirely new kind of Mario game? Or the long awaited Mario Party 9?
