New Mario Party 9 Screens and Japanese Box Art

As if the anniversary of Mario Party Legacy wasn’t enough, three new screens have been revealed for Mario Party 9, as well as the Japanese box art. The first screen shows a boss battle with Big Bob-omb, putting into question the information regarding Whomp as the boss of Bob-omb Factory. The second image features the group in what appears to be the Bob-omb Factory board. The third screen shows a new minigame that has players balancing on a moving platform above a pit of lava.

The Japanese Box Art differs slightly from its North American counterpart. Aside from the logo, a giant rock formation can be seen on the right and the colors in the sky have a different tone of colors.

Thanks to Mario Wiki for the images!

After I posted about these screens on my own site, I was wondering if you knew about Big Bob-ombs inclusion in Mario Party 9. Glad to see you’re up to date on the news about the game.

However, how come the poll don’t have an option for ‘Big Bob-omb is the factory boss, the magazine was just wrong’?

I’m kind of hoping they show screens of classic mode soon now 🙂

Japanese box art differs slightly in the fact that Luigi isn’t on the box art for Japan in addition to the color tones and logo.
