Power Moons  1-20 21-37 38-55

1. The Icicle Barrier

The view is hazy and you can barely see the path in front of you. No matter! Your goal is to get to the light beacon, so start walking forward. Follow it until you see two icicles on the ground. Run through them and drop off the edge to land safely down below. Keep following the icicles and you’ll eventually reach the Above the Ice Wall Checkpoint. Use Cappy to clear the snow in front of you and to reveal a long pit. Jump in!

You made it to Shiveria Town! Power Moon 6 is right at the entrance. Pass the Crazy Cap shop and go speak with the Shiverian with the exclamation mark over its head. From here you’ll need to enter each of the four hallways and get the Power Moons from each secret level. If you want to do it in order, start with the lower right, upper right, lower left, and finally the upper left.

Enter the bottom right door to get to the Ice Cavern. Capture a Goomba and stick with it for the rest of the level. Going as just Mario will have you slipping and sliding all over the place, especially over that narrow path at the start. Stack the Goombas if you plan to get Power Moon 18. As you make your way though the level, walk under shadows to have a giant icicle drop down. At the top of the level, walk over the three cracks to get the humongous icicle to drop allowing you to get the Power Moon.

2. The Ice Wall Barrier

From Shiveria Town, enter the upper right hallway to get to the Hollow Crevasse. This area is littered with Bitefrost, enemies that pop out of the snow, raise up, then slam their teeth on anyone standing. You can see them following you with their shadows in the snow. Use them to your advantage! The area has five moon shards you need to collect. The first three are at the starting area and the fourth is at a dead end. Ride up the Bitefrost and jump off at the last second to avoid damage and to get over. The fifth is at the end of the Bitefrost area. From there, use the Bitefrost to get up to the Power Moon by riding on it and jumping before it snatches you. Power Moon 12 is near the end as well.

3. The Gusty Barrier

Enter the lower left hallway in Shiveria Town to get to the Wind-Chill Cavern. Ty-foos rule the area but they are easy to capture. Get around the first one by running around it to the right, then get to the second one and capture it. Wait for the other Ty-foo to push the block your way, then exit the Ty-foo to leave it dazed for a bit. Jump over the block and capture the third Ty-foo to blow the block sitting inside the wooden door. Get through, then capture the fourth Ty-foo. Blow away all the Spinies on the last platform to have the Power Moon appear. Use this Ty-foo to get Power Moon 9 as well.

4. The Snow Mountain Barrier

The Broodal fight is in the area accessed by going through the upper left. Once in the Snowy Mountain, get through the snow and yank out the wooden pole to get a whirlwind of air going. Float up, get through the snow, and use the flower spring to get to the next whirlwind. Before pulling the next wooden pole, grab Power Moon 7. Use the last whirlwind to get to the arena.

Looks like you’ll be fighting Rango. The battle is basically the same fight but the difficulty has increased. Rango will throw two hats this time and they are pretty spot on when it comes to getting you. For that reason you need to make sure you hit at least one of the hats as soon as they are thrown. Bounce on the flipped hat and ground pound. When he jumps in his moves are a lot quicker too so try to constantly long jump away. Do this two more times to get the Power Moon!

5. The Bound Bowl Grand Prix

Once you’ve collected Power Moons 1-4, the hole leading to the Bound Bowl will open in Shiveria Town. Drop down and you’ll find out that the race can’t begin until the last racer gets out of the washroom. Head inside and find the poor guy in the center area of the room. Capture him and head back to the Bound Bowl to get it started.

Get first place after three laps. This race is more than jump rolling and bouncing down the lane. When you bound, you get an extra speed boost. This is especially helpful on corners where you can bound off of and continue going at full speed. This also has a disadvantage in that straightaways and those steep hills at the end can be tough. It may be hard to control the bounding in these areas. If you’re unsure, take it easy in those spots. Otherwise you should be trying to get that extra boost at every turn!

6. Entrance to Shiveria

As soon as you enter Shiveria Town, turn the camera and look for a stack of cardboard boxes in a corner. Don’t hit them! Instead, climb them up to get to a Power Moon.

7. Behind Snowy Mountain

In the Snowy Mountain, get to the second wooden pole and look at the corner. Throw Cappy to disolve the snow, then walk through and head for the Power Moon.

8. Shining in the Snow in Town

Climb the pole on the right side of the main area in Shiveria Town to get to the second floor. Jump onto the three poles to get to the other side. Clear the snow to find a glow in the corner. Ground pound to find the Power Moon!

9. Atop a Blustery Arch

In the Wind-Chill Cavern get to the last Ty-foo and capture it. Float over to the big wooden door you walked through earlier. Use the Ty-foo to blow the stepping stairs block back where it was originally found. Climb up the steps and ground pound the X on the door to reveal the Power Moon!

10. Caught Hopping in the Snow!

Look for a rabbit on the east. If you can grab it, the Power Moon will be yours! Use the ledges to your advantage. As the bunny is hopping bast the base of one, drop off the ledge and catch it immediately.

11. The Shiverian Treasure Chest

Climb the pole on the right side of the main area in Shiveria Town to get to the second floor. Jump onto the three poles to get to the other side. Clear the snow at the end to reveal a hallway. Follow it to the end where a treasure chest with a Power Moon awaits!

12. Treasure in the Ice Wall

In the Hollow Crevasse, get to the end of the level. As you’re riding up the last Bitefrost, jump up and grab onto the crack in the wall. As you hang on, move to the right and you’ll eventually get to the treasure chest at the end.

13. Snow Kingdom Timer Challenge 1

Available after completing all the main missions in the Snow Kingdom. To the east is a scarecrow near the outer wall. Let Cappy rest on its head as you jump from ice platform to ice platform. Remember not to slip off and not to stay on a single platform for too long.

14. Snow Kingdom Timer Challenge 2

Available after completing all the main missions in the Snow Kingdom. Underneath the path leading to the Odyssey is a scarecrow. Throw Cappy on to get the challenge started. Long jump to the first pole, then climb up and jump tot he second pole. Jump from there to the Power Moon!

15. Moon Shards in the Snow

Available after completing all the main missions in the Snow Kingdom. There are five moon shards scattered about the main area of the Snow Kingdom. Find all five here:

  • On a sinking platform in the water near the Above the Wall Checkpoint.
  • A Ty-foo guards this one near the Above the Wall Checkpoint.
  • In the area underneath the Odyssey.
  • Capture a Cheep Cheep and grab it from the center of an underwater ring of coins.
  • On a ledge near the east wall.

16. Taking Notes: Snow Path Dash

Available after completing all the main missions in the Snow Kingdom. Look for the music note to the north of the Above the Wall Checkpoint. Grab it and run through three series of music notes. Collect them all to reveal a Power Moon. During the last series of notes you’ll pass by the location of Captain Toad.

17. Fishing in the Glacier!

Look for a Lakitu fishing in a shallow pond on the east side of the kingdom. You should know the drill by now.

Drop the line into the water and near one of the outlines and wait for the Cheep Cheep to bite. After a few nibbles, wait for the rumble in the controller to get stronger, then try to reel them in. Keep in mind that you can still move while the hook is in the water. You can even move right in front of an outline and it won’t get scared off. Catching a smaller Cheep Cheep will get you coins or a hear, but catching a big Cheep Cheep will get you a Power Moon. You’ll have a harder time trying to reel in the big one so make sure to also shake your control to better your chances!

18. Ice-Dodging Goomba Stack

In the Ice Cavern, stack all four Goombas at the start and bring them over to the Goomba Switch. Stand on it to reveal a Power Moon in the wall.

19. Captain Toad is Chilly!

Look for a suspicious spot at the base of the north wall. Clear the area of the snow to reveal a hidden Captain Toad.

20. I’m Not Cold!

Across from the Crazy Cap shop is a Shiverian who thinks a racing uniform consists of nothing but undies. Okay! Purchase the Boxer Shorts from the yellow side of the Crazy Cap for 1000 coins. Speak to him again to get a Power Moon!
