Power Moons | 1-20 | 21-25 | 26-40 |
1. Our First Power Moon
You’ve made it to the Cascade Kingdom! The very first Power Moon is just around the corner. Pass the Checkpoint Flag and go up the slope to find a lone Chain Chomp. Throw Cappy into the Chain Chomp to capture it! Push in any direction and wait for the Chain Chomp to turn red. Release to send it flying in the opposite direction.
See the glowing rock near the waterfall? As the Chain Chomp, pull yourself away from the glowing rock and release to send it crashing into the rock. The impact will reveal your first Power Moon!
2. Multi Moon Atop the Falls
Once you grab the first Power Moon, a bridge will take you to the other side of Fossil Falls. First interact with the Odyssey to discover that you need to collect a few more Power Moons before taking off. Keep following the path where you’ll eventually reach a Big Chain Chomp and a T-Rex. Capture either enemy and use them to destroy the rocks blocking the path.
Follow the now opened path around the back of the waterfall. Use the Chain Chomp to break down the weak wall to reveal a 2D segment. Enter the Warp Pipe and hop on top of the first row of bricks. Break through the two sets above and continue moving up until you reach the top. YOu can also get Power Moon #4 in this area. Exit to return to normal. Take hold of one of the two Chain Chomps and slam into the other one to send it flying into rock blocking the path.
Time for another boss battle, this time against Broode. You’ll immediately notice her golden Chain Chomp. Throw Cappy at it to knock off its hat, giving you the opportunity to capture it. Once you’ve taken hold of the Chain Chomp, start pushing away from Broode as she tries to smack you out of her Chain Chomp. Trust me, she will if she gets close enough. Once she stands still and starts yanking, release to send the Chain Chomp flying her way. Repeat this two more times to defeat her and to get the Multi Moon.
Return to the Odyssey to move to the Sand Kingdom, otherwise stick around to collect two more Power Moons. There are only four available at the moment, but you can come back for more as soon as you land in the Sand Kingdom.
3. Chomp Through the Rocks
Go to the area with the three Chain Chomps and the T-Rex. Capture the Chain Chomp nearby a weak spot in the wall and send the Chain Chomp flying right into it. Let the dust settle to see the uncovered Power Moon.
4. Behind the Waterfall
As you’re going through the 2D segment near the side of the waterfall, take not of a path going to the left. Hit the invisible block on the left wall and use it to hop over the wall. Walk behind the waterfall to find the Power Moon at the end.
5. On Top of the Rubble Power Moon
The first four Power Moons of the Cascade Kingdom are the only ones you can snag on your first visit. After you first make it to the Sand Kingdom you’ll be free to return to Cascade Kingdom where a bunch of new Power Moons are made available.
One such Power Moon is the one you find resting on top of some rubble near the Odyssey. This is super easy to find!
6. Treasure of the Waterfall Basin
Hop into the water near the waterfall and swim close to the edge of the next waterfall. Swim over to the left side to find a small basin with a treasure chest inside. Whack it with Cappy to reveal a Power Moon.
7. Above a High Cliff
Cross the bridge over the waterfall and follow the path to the next Chain Chomp. Have it ram into the weak wall or capture it and do it yourself. This will reveal a warp pipe that leads to a Checkpoint Flag and a Power Moon.
8. Across the Floating Isles
Go the area where you fought Broodle and go to the very end. Three platforms float just past the edge with the Power Moon at the end. Just jump from one to the next.
9. Cascade Kingdom Timer Challenge 1
Near the waterfall falling off the kingdom is a lone scarecrow. Throw on Cappy to get a platforming challenge started. This one is simple. Just move from platform to platform as they pass each other. The Power Moon is at the end of the third platform.
10. Cascade Kingdom Timer Challenge 2
Head over to where you fought Broodle to find a scarecrow. Throw Cappy onto its head to start a platforming challenge! This one is pretty easy. Do a triple jump up the first two steps to make up onto the higher third step. Do the same for the next set and you’ll reach the Power Moon.
11. Good Morning, Captain Toad!
Captain Toad is back! Return to the area where you fought Broodle and look over the edge on the left side. Near the mysterious block should be another small area just a bit lower. Jump down and speak to Captain Toad to claim your prize.
12. Dinosaur Nest: Big Cleanup
Warp to the Top of the Big Stump Checkpoint Flag and look over the edge to find a hidden door.
Head inside to find another sleeping T-Rex. Capture it and start rampaging through the area, killing all the Burrobos as you go. Defeat them all to have the Power Moon appear.
13. Dinosaur Nest: Running Wild
Before you leave the Dinosaur Nest, capture the T-Rex and drop off the edge to a small area down below. Break through the weak blocks to find a hidden Power Moon.
14. Nice Shot with the Chain Chomp!
Below the area where you fought Broode is a path that wraps around the area. Follow it to find a lone warp pipe. Enter it to find yourself underground with a number of Chain Chomps. The goal is to hit the gong in the very back but you can’t do it yourself since there is poisonous water. You’re going to have to use the nearest Chain Chomp to hit the other Chain Chomp into the gong.
There are three rooms. The first one you simply need to hit the Chain Chomp directly into the gong. The second room you’ll need to angle your shot just a little right of the Chain Chomp. For the last room, you want to move towards the right and angle your shot just a tad to the left of the Chain Chomp. This will unlock a room with the Power Moon. If you want Power Moon 15, don’t jump into the pipe yet!
15. Very Nice Shot with the Chain Chomp!
After you get Power Moon 14, don’t jump into the warp pipe. Instead, Walk towards the front of the room to reveal a passage on the right. This will bring you to a final room. Capture the Chain Chomp and move just a bit to the left. Angle your shot at the middle Chain Chomp to the right of it so that it just hits its edge. This should get the last Chain Chomp to hit the gong and reveal a Power Moon.
16. Past the Chasm Lifts
There’s a path behind the waterfall that is filled with Burrbos and ultimately leads to the 2D area. In that area is a path the goes down along the wall. Hit the door at the end with Cappy and enter inside.
Looks like you’re in a new area! Ride the platform up and enter the 2D area. Hit the Koopa Troopa twice to send it flying towards the Goombas, then use the moving girders to reach the next pipe. Use the moving platforms to reach a second 2D area. Use the girders once again to reach a pipe leading to the Power Moon. Don’t enter the final pipe if you want to get Power Moon 17!
17. Hidden Chasm Passage
There’s secret section of the Chasm Lifts that got you Power Moon 16. Before you enter the second 2D section, jump off the cliff and land in the area below. Enter the pipe here to find a third 2D section. Jump up onto the bricks and send the Koopa Troopa flying to the right to destroy the block. Run all the way to the right and jump over the gap to reach the hidden Power Moon.
18. Secret Path to Fossil Falls!
This one can’t be obtained until you reach the Snow Kingdom. Once there and you’ve completed the main missions, capture a Ty-foo and head to the north wall. Blow the wooden block to the left to form a path up the painting. Jump inside to find yourself on an isolated island above the Cascade Kingdom. Power Moon is there too!
19. A Tourist in the Cascade Kingdom
This one can’t be obtained until you reach the Metro Kingdom. Get the Power Moon from the Tosatarenan tourist in the Metro Kingdom, then come back to the Cascade Kingdom to find him near the Odyssey. Speak to him again to get a Power Moon!
20. Rolling Rock by the Falls
Go back to the area where the Odyssey was originally found. In its place you’ll find a small glowing rock. Start kicking it around, slowly chipping away at it. Eventually it will get kicked enough and crumble, revealing a Power Moon.
