1. The Broodals Are After Some Cookin’
Getting to the Broodal fight is pretty simple. From the Odyssey cross over the lava with either the small platforms or the grates. Pass the Magmatos and reach the hallway of lava. Capture a Lava Bubble and jump up the top of the steps.
It’s a repeat of the Spewart battle but it’s… easier? It’s basically the same fight from the Wooded Kingdom but now you have more space. This guy can spit out purple goop, so be sure to stay out of close range. Use Cappy to clear up some of the goop, then knock off Spewart’s hat. Do a simple jump on the head to deal damage. In retaliation, Spewart will hop into his hat and bounce around the walls of the arena, leaving goop trails. Do this two more times to defeat him.
2. Under the Cheese Rocks
Cross the grate bridge and capture the Volbonan, a fork, and launch yourself upward. Enter the town to find yourself with plenty to do. If you’re looking to just complete the main mission, walk through and get to the edge of a big lava sea.
Capture a Lava Bubble and swim across the lava to the area with the lava springs. Ride them up to reach a higher level. Once there, climb up onto the steps and follow it to the area with the cheese rocks.
Capture a Hammer Bro. and start fling those pans at the cheese rocks. This will slowly chip away at them, revealing whatever it may be inside. Take out the enemies with the pans, then start going up the steps after destroying the cheese rocks. At the top is another block of cheese rock, but this one has a switch hidden inside. Pull the switch to unlock the Power Moon!
3. Big Pot on the Volcano: Dive In!
From the Path to the Meat Plateau Checkpoint, start walking forward and get to the path that starts ramping upward. Use the fork to spring yourself up, then capture the big chunk of meat once you reach the Meat Plateau Checkpoint. Twitch to break free of the salt, then start twitching over to the edge. This will alert Cookatiel who will swoop down and snatch you up.
After being dropped in the giant pot on top of the volcano, start hopping towards the Multi Moon in the middle. And that’s it!
4. Climb Up the Cascading Magma
When you return after grabbing the Multi Moon, the kingdom has changed a bit. Notably, there is a new path that leads to the Power Moon we’re looking for. The lava hallway is now blocked so capture and Lava Bubble and move to the left. Climb up the steps and enter the new area on the left. Enter the 2D section and come out on the other side where you can use the corner to get to the entrance of the next area.
Head inside and capture another Lava Bubble. Go up the slope and hop over the tumbling pillars to get to the top. Drop off the edge where lava pillars go up, but don’t miss your chance to get Power Moon 29! Use the lava pillars to get up to the next area. As the Lava Bubble, jump onto the unlit torch to get the Power Moon to appear!
5. Cookatiel Showdown!
Time to make it to the top of the mountain! Now that you’re back outside, start jumping from platform to platform as you take out the Fire Piranha Plants that get in your way. Power Moon 32 can be grabbed right at the start! Get to the end to reach the Start of the Peak Climb Checkpoint.
Climb up the mountain! To the left of the checkpoint is a Life-Up Heart hidden in a block. Use the forks to fling yourself up. When you see the platform that flips, wait for the side that isn’t covered with lava before jumping on. If you’re confident in your skills, doing some wall jumps and Cappy throws can get you up to the top of the mountain. Otherwise you’ll have to go past the area with the rolling vegetables and the section where you have to wait for the platforms to flip. Reach the Top of the Peak Climb Checkpoint and use a Lava Bubble to reach the cannon.
You made it to Cookatiel! This is a fun battle that will go smoothly if done right. The first phase is just swimming away while avoiding the spiked balls. Crash into the rocks for coins and the occasional heart! After some time, Cookatiel will use a giant spit attack. Looks like a path to me! Swim up the spitfall and get to the top where you’ll jump and bonk Cookatiel on the head. Repeat this two more times to defeat it! Each round the spitfall will get harder to climb. The last one in particular you need to constantly jump from section to section to make it to the top. And with that, the main missions are over for the Luncheon Kingdom!
6. Piled on the Salt
Climb up to the top of the wall opposite of the Odyssey. The Power Moon will be at the end of the wall on top of a pile of salt. You can get up on top of the wall by jumping onto the top from the area where you fought the Broodal.
7. Lurking in the Pillar’s Shadow
Capture a Lava Bubble near the exit of the starting area, just before you pass the lava to get to the Broodal battle. Once on the right side, swim to the over to the corner where a Power Moon hides behind a pillar.
8. Atop the Jutting Crag
Available once the cannons appear in the magma sea. Leave the town and grab a Lava Bubble to get into the magma sea. To the right of the lava pillars is a cannon. Use it and as you’re going over the crag, cancel your capture to land on top. Grab the Power Moon that rests here! And don’t leave just yet, this is where you go to get Power Moon 16!
9. Is This an Ingredient Too?!
Between the Crazy Cap shop and the other building are two stacks of wooden crates. Destroy them to reveal a Power Moon. Wall jump up to the top of the roof to reach it!
10. Atop a Column in a Row
The pillars surrounding the town hold a secret. Get on top of them and jump to the pillar in the corner. There you will find a glowing spot where a Power Moon will appear when you ground pound.
11. Surrounded by Tall Mountains
From the Meat Plateau Checkpoint, drop off the edge and land on the green mountains down below. Look for an area that looks like steps leading down on the north side of the mountain. On the last step is a glowing spot. Ground pound for the Power Moon!
12. Island of Salt Floating in the Lava
Leave the town area and capture a Lava Bubble. Drop down over the lavafall and look for a salt pile with a glowing center. Ground pound to find a Power Moon!
13. Overlooking a Bunch of Ingredients
Get top of the Slots house and jump up onto the top of the blue rocky area. Use a triple jump and some Cappy throws and dives to get up. Once on top, go south and ground pound the glowing spot to reveal a Power Moon.
14. Light the Lantern on the Small Island
Once you reach the Path to the Meat Plateau Checkpoint, capture a Lava Bubble and head for the center island. Jump onto the lantern to light, revealing the Power Moon!
15. Golden Turnip Recipe 1
Pluck out the Golden Turnip from the sprout to the right of the Crazy Cap shop. Throw it into the pot of boiling stew to find the Power Moon!
16. Golden Turnip Recipe 2
Available once the cannons appear in the magma sea. Leave the town and grab a Lava Bubble to get into the magma sea. To the right of the lava pillars is a cannon. Use it and as you’re going over the crag, cancel your capture to land on top. Time to take it back to the stew in town! Before you grab the turnip, make sure the cheese blocks near the Checkpoint that cover the stairs have been removed. Go there and climb up the step like sections of the blue wall. Get to the top to make it back into town.
17. Golden Turnip Recipe 3
Get to the Path to the Meat Plateau Checkpoint and get to the area where the path starts to go up. Grab a Hammer Bro and around the corner of the area instead. Pass the secret door and turn the corner to find cheese rocks. Break them and unpluck the golden turnip.
Time to take it back to the stew in town! Before you grab the turnip, make sure the cheese blocks near the Checkpoint that cover the stairs have been removed. Go there and climb up the step like sections of the blue wall. Get to the top to make it back into town.
18. Luncheon Kingdom Timer Challenge 1
Get on top of the wall behind the Odyssey and throw Cappy onto the scarecrow to start a timer challenge. This one is simple if done correctly. Run onto the platform and wall jump up to the Power Moon. You can get up on top of the wall using a Lava Bubble and using the hidden blocks on the west side. Jumping onto the top from the area where you fought the Broodal is another easy option.
19. Luncheon Kingdom Timer Challenge 2
Available after completing the main missions in the Luncheon Kingdom. Go to the area where you fought the Broodal to find a scarecrow. For this challenge, stepping on any of the purple blocks will cause them to fall. For that reason, start by staying to one side and coming back the other. One will require a long jump!
20. Luncheon Kingdom Timer Challenge 3
Available after completing the main missions in the Luncheon Kingdom. Go to the Start of the Peak Climb Checkpoint to find a scarecrow on a nearby sale pile. Do this challenge quickly and it’ll be a breeze. The two platforms will sway if you stand on them, so move fast and keep jumping and you’ll barely affect them.
