W3: Shining Falls – Super Mario Bros. Wonder Walkthrough

Complete World 3 with our Super Mario Bros. Wonder walkthrough focused on every Flower Coin, Wonder Seed, and golden flag in Shining Falls.

Flower Coins and Wonder Seeds are the main collectibles in each level. The three 10-Flower Coins aren’t required to complete the level or unlock additional worlds, but they will add to the currency you can use on the world map. Wonder Seeds, on the other hand, are required for progression, and each level has either two or three to collect. One Wonder Seed is always found at the end of a Wonder Flower effect, and the other Wonder Seed is obtained once completing the level. Any additional Wonder Seeds are found by using a secret exit.

Additionally, each level presents you the a golden flag if you’re able to grab the very top of the goal post at the end of the level. Sometimes it’s simple, other times you may need to be creative about it. No matter which main collectible it is, we’ll cover it in our Shining Falls walkthrough!

Shining Falls is the third world in the game and is unlocked after completing World 2 and collecting 8 Wonder Seeds in the Petal Isles. Use the links below to jump to a specific level:

The Hoopycat Trial: Hop, Hop, and Awaaay

Flower Coin 1 – Stand near the brick blocks covering the Flower Coin and jump several times to have two Hoopycats break clear through blocks. Work smarter, not harder!

Flower Coin 2 – Get to the dropping platforms and quickly hop over to the Flower Coin before it descends into the abyss.

Wonder Seed 1 – The Wonder Flower is inside the long Question Block that you can’t reach. But, the Hoppycat can! Jump when it’s underneath the block to release the powerful flower. As you make your way up, use the giant Hoppycats to your advantage by having them crash through ceilings and form new openings. Wonder Seed is underneath the final Hoppycat!

Flower Coin 3 – During the Wonder Flower effect, look for the Flower Coin on the right. Have the giant Hoppycat jump through the ceiling, then use that short time to run underneath it.

Wonder Seed 2 – Reach the end of the level.

Golden Flag – Run, jump, and bounce off the Hoppycat as it comes down from the ceiling!

The Anglefish Trial: Ready, Aim, Fly!

Flower Coin 1 – Using the elephant power-up, water the dried plant under the Flower Coin to grow a climbable vine.

Flower Coin 2 – There’s a pipe under the main platform that is quite east to get to. Avoid or take out the Anglefish, then enter the pipe. Inside, clear the four Anglefish from the room, then yank the handle to reveal your Flower Coin.

Flower Coin 3 – Swing your trunk and destroy the brick blocks underneath the Question Block. Hit the block to cause the nearby big snail to drop to a platform below. Grab its shell and bring it underneath the blocked off warp pipe. Throw the shell in the air, then enter the pipe. In the secret zone, use the same strategy. Toss the big shell at the glowing tulips, then at the Flower Coin that spawns shortly after.

Wonder Seed 1 – Bounce off the Anglefish to reach this Wonder Flower, then do the same thing to reach the top of this area where the Wonder Seed waits.

Wonder Seed 2 – Reach the end of the level.

Golden Flag – Bounce off the Anglefish to reach the orange platform above.

The Midway Trial: Hop to It

Flower Coin 1 – See the Hoppycat guarding the first Flower Coin? Walk underneath it and jump. This won’t knock it out as it’s copying you after all, so jump again just as it is about to land on the block.

Flower Coin 2 – At the Checkpoint Flag, enter the pipe on the left. Wait for the Hoppycat to pass underneath the switch on the ceiling, then jump! This will temporarily reveal a path to the Flower Coin, but be aware of the Hoppycats that fall from the ceiling. Do a light jump and quickly run underneath them!

Wonder Seed 1 – At the Checkpoint Flag, jump underneath the red Hoppycat and wait for it to return. Just as it makes contact with the block, jump again to knock the Wonder Flower right out of it. Grabbing it will transform you into a Hoppycat, and you’ll be able to make massive leaps upward. As you make your way to the Wonder Seed at the top of this area, keep in mind that you can clear out stacks of those bamboo creatures by charging through them with your spikey tops. And make sure to bounce off the Smogrins near the top!

Flower Coin 3 – In the final area, every jump is precious. Your first jump should get you over the first gap. Second run and jump should get you to the Flower Coin. Any additional jumps before that and your platforms will be destroyed.

Wonder Seed 2 – Reach the end of the level.

Golden Flag – This one is pretty simple actually. Just avoid the Hoppycats and you can run and jump of the last platform.

The Sharp Trial: Launch to Victory

Flower Coin 1 – The Hoppycat that shoots out of the bamboo platform you’re riding on will be your best friend this level. As you start going up, jump and have the Hoppycat take out the tall mushroom creature. It’s aching body will collect the Flower Coin for you as it falls to its helpless death.

Flower Coin 2 – Just after the first Flower Coin, be ready to use the same strategy for the second Flower Coin. Before the tall mushroom creature walks right off the spikes, jump and knock it back into the Flower Coin surrounded by spikes. Don’t feel bad, this one was to walk into the abyss voluntarily!

Wonder Seed 1 – Wonder Flower should be easy to spot. Grab it to turn into a Hoppycat once again. Similar idea as the previous level, get to the top by making massive leaps upward and landing on different platforms.

Flower Coin 3 – Make it to the end of the second bamboo platform ride and take note of the brick blocks to your right. Jump three times to have the Hoopycat hit the Question Block. This will send it flying upward where it’ll collect the Flower Coin.

Wonder Seed 2 – Reach the end of the level.

Golden Flag – Run across the clouds and jump off the last one. Simple!

The Sugarstar Trial: Across the Night Sky

Wonder Seed 1 – Walk along the bottom cloud path in rhythm with the swirling green enemies. If you keep moving forward, the enemies will continue to twirl in a way that you won’t get hurt. The Wonder Flower effect grants you invincibility, and you can keep the 10-second timer in check by collecting the falling stars all over the map.

Flower Coin 1 – Immediately after grabbing the Wonder Flower, run for the Flower Coin riding on the wavy rail.

Flower Coin 2 – In the area with the coins sharped like stars, look for another Flower Coin riding a rail.

Flower Coin 3 – Slow down when you reach the platforms slowly dropping down. Ride one to the lower section while grabbing stars to maintain your Wonder Flower timer.

Wonder Seed 2 – Reach the end of the level.

Golden Flag – Let the moving platforms take you up a bit before you jump to the flagpole.

The Final Trial: Zip Track Dash

Flower Coin 1 – As you zip around in the earlier parts of the level, briefly drop to the lower zip track with the Flower Coin, then hop right back up.

Wonder Seed 1 – Shortly after the first Flower Coin, look for a zip track that start to rise into the air. Make a big jump early to land on top of the zip track, you won’t be able to grab the Wonder Flower by sliding beneath it. Keep zipping around as a Hoppycat and you’ll eventually make a massive leap to the Wonder Seed. For the two other Flower Coins, you’ll have to play the level a second time.

Flower Coin 2 – Ignore the Wonder Flower and start sliding up the vertical zip track. Try to stay on the left zip track as you get to the top as you’ll need to hit the ceiling to reach the Flower Coin.

Flower Coin 3 – After the Checkpoint Flag, start riding the zip tracks once again. On the second zip track that sways a different direction, stay until the last moment to grab the final Flower Coin.

Wonder Seed 2 – Reach the hidden exit. You must take the Wonder Flower route to get there. The other exit won’t complete the trial.

Golden Flag – Two options. For the fake exit, bounce of the Smogrins to reach the top. For the hidden exit, hit the hidden block to the left of the zip track, then hop onto it to reach the zip track. The extra speed should get you to the top of the flagpole!

Crouching High Jump I

Flower Coin 1 – Perform a crouching high jump and bounce off the tall mushroom creature to snag this Flower Coin.

Flower Coin 2 – Time your crouching high jump underneath the spinning Flower Coin. Try as many times as needed!

Flower Coin 3 – At the flagpole, bust out another crouching high jump and bounce off the tall mushroom creature to reach both the Flower Coin and the top of the flagpole.

Wonder Seed – Reach the end of the level.

Golden Flag – Getting the third Flower Coin will also get you to the top of the flagpole.

An Empty Park?

Wonder Token 1 – Hit the invisible block just after entering the area.

Wonder Token 2 – There’s another hidden block that contains a Wonder Token before the top of the wall is reached. It’s closer to the right side of the map than the left. You’ll want to reveal some of the other hidden blocks to reach it.

Wonder Token 3 – There are two hidden blocks above the moving platform that goes up and down. Hit it the higher block to reveal the Wonder Token. You’ll need to reveal the Downpour enemy via another nearby hidden block to access it.

Wonder Token 4 – Stand on top of the Downpour and hit both hidden blocks above it. One spawns another Downpour, the other reveal the Wonder Token.

Wonder Token 5 – Inside the second Downpour is a hidden block that will bring in a third Downpour once hit. Enter the third Downpour and look for a hidden block within it. You guessed it, hitting it will reveal the final Wonder Token.

Wonder Seed – Collect all five Wonder Tokens. Wonder Seed will spawn at the very top.

Unreachable Treasure?

Wonder Seed – There are three rows of hidden blocks to the left of the warp pipe. Reveal them, then use them as steps to hop over the pipe.

Watery Wonder Tokens

Wonder Seed – Drop into the water and collect all five Wonder Tokens. As the water drops, swim from right to left and back to right as the Wonder Token locations alternate between the two.

Timer-Switch Climb

Wonder Seed – Reach the top of this area without letting the timer go out. You can refresh time by hitting or ground pounding any of the timer blocks. This challenge is very generous as you can hit each block as many times as you need, and there are plenty to go around.

Timer-Switch Dash

Wonder Seed – Similar to the previous level, hit the timer blocks as you make your way through the level. Again, the blocks are very generous as you can hit them as many times as you’d like. No, the glowing tulips are not required to touch to finish the level, but doing so des provide a nice challenge. When you reach the end, hit all the hidden blocks near the Wonder Seed to create a path, then go up and around to reach it.

Royal Seed – Let’s mention it here, why not. Completing all six trials in Shining Falls will open up the Royal Seed Mansion. Head in there to collect this world’s Royal Seed.
