MPL Community Picture of the Day: Week 29

Although Sakurai has retired his Pictures of the Day for Super Smash Bros, Mario Party Legacy are proud to deliver a community driven series where YOU submit your images for everyone to see! We’re updating EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK! (Please click this to listen to the above in the Announcer’s [not really] voice.)
The rules of the CPOTD are in Week 1’s post. Please refer to there if you forget, or are new to the submission process.

Smash 3DS images can now be uploaded even if you DON’T have a New 3DS – make sure you update past version 1.0.5, then go to Games and More -> Vault -> Album, choose your image, then select Send -> Post to Miiverse. Send in those 3DS Smash pics, and we might just have Smash 3DS dedicated days!**

A strange battle at Suzaku Castle indeed. The Ryu copy ability is unique in that Kirby also copies some of the other properties of Ryu himself!

Firstly, the hair, eyebrows and headband together are probably the closest thing to Fighter Kirby in Smash. =P Kirby channels the World Warrior look well.

Pressing 🅱 fires a normal Hadoken as you’d expect. “But 8B1T, this is hardly special!” Bear with me.

…see that little white star while Kirby’s channeling ki? That indicates an Input Hadoken!
Perform it with ⬇️↘️➡️ then 🅰 or 🅱!
If you pay attention in-game, you’ll find that Input Hadokens are larger than if you just went the easy route and pressed 🅱.
Color me surprised when I first heard this was possible, since Kirby can’t copy the K.O. Uppercut with the Straight Lunge, nor the Aura scaling for Aura Sphere!

He can also throw a Shakunetsu Hadoken as well!
Remember that’s ⬅️↙️⬇️↘️➡️ then 🅰 or 🅱!
Ryu Kirby should also be able to throw Hadokens even if he’s got the Smash Ball, just like Ryu!
Pity Kirby can’t copy Shoryuken as well…

HADOKEN!!!
Interestingly enough these two Hadokens didn’t cancel each other out – must be an elevation thing (similar to Kirby’s copied Lasers not being able to be crouched under).

Toon Link: “Villager, it’s a long story, I’ll tell you later; but now that Lucas has returned, we’re gonna play a quick game of Hide & Seek to celebrate!”

Toon Link: “OK! Now that Villager & Lucas have introduced themselves to each other, let’s get started. Villager, you be the Seeker.”
Villager: “Hey, wait! Why do I always have to be the… ugh, fine, whatever…”

Ness: “Count to… uh, 50! No peeking!”
*to Lucas/Toon Link* “Come on, let’s go!”
Lucas: “Hey guys, wait for me!”

Villager: “48, 49… 50!
OK, ready or not, blah blah blah…”
*silence*
“Man, this stage is BIG. Where are they?”

Good evening Ladies and Gentlemen! Tonight, you will witness the spectacle that is the World Smash Circuit TITLE BOUT!! In the blue corner, the Challenger – Ryu, the Tireless Wanderer!!

Aaaaand in the gold corner, the reigning Champion: LITTLE MAC! His title’s on the line, but the Bruiser from the Bronx isn’t showing any fear!

*DING DING*
Keep it clean, you two! Now FIGHT!!

*some rounds have passed*
We’re coming into the final 30 seconds of the final round! Neither fighter has landed a decisive blow, and they’ve both been pushed to their limits – so much that they’re fighting OUTSIDE the ring!?
Ryu’s on the back foot here; he needs to make a move, and fast – the home crowd’s cheering for Mac, and the judges are likely to favor him too!

“SHORYUKEN!!!”
WOW! LOOK AT THAT! That’s gotta hurt in more ways than one! Is it enough for a K.O.? Will a new Champion be crowned tonight?
*DING DING*

We have a winner by K.O.!! The new Champion of the WSC, RYU!!!!!
Ryu: “The journey has just begun.”
