I would LOVE to play as Bowser Jr.! All I need is my Blooper, but I know he'll never be playable anytime soon ;-;

It's doubtful that he will be playable. So far, we haven't seen any DK Spaces, nor have we seen any sign of him. If we are to believe that the roster is like Mario Party 5, then there's a chance that DK could be playable in a special mode. He's nowhere to be seen, either, so it's possible he may have his own board like in the past three Mario Party games.AbsolPowers said:

Seeing as this is a 3DS game, I think it's very likely it'll only have 10 characters, 12 at most.

Yoshi and Waluigi are confirmed to be playable here, since the video we got yesterday.
According to the last minigame on that post on New Mario Party: Island Tour gameplay footage, It looks as if Boo and Bowser Jr. could be the last ones on the sounds cause it has all playable characters plus boo and Bowser Jr. so it seems as if they could be playable (I also think I see Bowser in there for some reason).

Boo and Bowser Jr! TBH I wouldn't be too surprised if Bowser showed up as an unlockable character with someone we totally unexpect (PLZ BE TOADETTE!!!)
Great to see Boo part of the playable roster. I knew that mini-game hinted it. Bowser Jr. might as well be playable, but we still need proof.

Boo is going to be playable. While he's not a new or very exciting returning character to the series, it can actually be a good thing. Maybe we'll see Toadette be playable in this one, since she's hasn't been playable since Mario Party 8, like Boo.
