4-Player Minigames (50)

Lava Tile Isle
  • The Grindels don’t carry you when they move. If your opponents don’t know this, use it against them.  ~ SomeWildSeal
  • Grounded attacks are actually pretty powerful, if you find the timing, you can easily push most opponents (especially AIs) over the edge.  ~ Spongyoshi
Hot Lava Jump
  • At the start of the game, do high jumps when the rope touches the floor. When the rope speeds up around 20, start doing small jumps slightly later instead to keep up. ~ Spongyoshi
Shell Shocked
TOAD in the Box
  • For the first one, jump when you can start to see Toad’s face. For the second one, jump when Baby Bowser is rotating away. For the third one, jump when Baby Bowser is in front of the camera. For the fourth one, jump when you see the Piranha plant Rotating away. For the last one, try to jump at different intervals, if you mash the button, it’s likely you’ll get the same results!  ~ Spongyoshi
Mecha-Marathon
  • To mash both buttons efficiently, join your both fingers and harden them. Move them up and down as little as possible.  ~ Haruwolf
Roll Call
  • Players won’t be shy of copying the others so only note your accurate count at the end of the game. Also, count in your head or the other players will overhear you!  ~ Spongyoshi
Abandon Ship
  • If everyone is good at the game, I’d suggest aiming for the coins on the sides rather than the big prize.  ~ Spongyoshi
  • Mashing really don’t matter until you get close to the top. Save your stamina for the second half of minigame.  ~ Haruwolf
Platform Peril
  • On forward-moving conveyor belts, jump early. On backward-moving conveyor belts, jump late.  ~ Spongyoshi
Totem Pole Pound
  • The fastest way to clear is to only do full height ground pounds. This will clear one full totem segment each time, so doing it 5 times will clear the minigame.  ~ DMG
Bumper Balls
Bombs Away
  • Jump often! If something touches the island while you’re grounded, you’ll get dizzy. The radius can touch nearby grounded players on the last missile so jump over when it lands!  ~ Spongyoshi
Tipsy Tourney Finish the middle squares first. The shell speeds up when it’s closer to the edge making it harder to complete the middle if saved for last.  ~ jbutterfield
Honeycomb Havoc
  • Try to leave your opponent with three fruits at the end. This is an automatic win.  ~ jbutterfield
Hexagon Heat
  • Move to the center as the platform is coming back up. This leaves you better prepared for the next color.  ~ jbutterfield
Skateboard Scamper
  • It’s faster to jump up the slopes.   ~ jbutterfield
Slot Car Derby
  • Don’t accelerate or decelerate too suddenly. When you see your speed starts getting really high, ease off of the accelerator with moderate pace. When you start getting slow again, ease back onto the accelerator.  ~ Stalfos King
  • If everyone starts on go, but you wait half a second, you can get a speed boost to get to max speed sooner than others.  ~ Kenko shinkuma
Shy Guy Says
  • There’s actually a timer representing how long you have to press a button, It’s Lakitu! Shy Guy holds up his flag for as long as Lakitu is on screen, this can help out a lot in situations where Shy Guy is holding up more than one flag.  ~ Gianluca_S
Sneak ‘n’ Snore
  • The faster you go, the longer it will take you to get into the barrel when you want to stop.  ~ General_JF
Dizzy Dancing
  • Move around your analog stick until your character moves towards the music note. That is where your you should be pointing it in.  ~ Slyshi
Tile Driver
  • Quickly press Z after pressing A , you will do a short jump ground pound and you will flip the panels faster.  ~ Duck
  • Jump from one tile to the next, ground pounding while you’re in the air.  ~ jbutterfield
Deep Sea Salvage
  • Unless you get blocked by another player, try to stay atop the water as much as possible!  ~ Spongyoshi

2 vs. 2 Minigames (12)

Toad Bandstand
Bobsled Run
Handcar Havoc
  • Unlike in Mario Party 1, you can’t fall off the track so don’t be afraid of a missing an input and keep mashing!  ~ General_JF
  • In Mini-Game Coaster, the CPU on Normal Course is far harder than Hard Course. It’s actually more important to lean the car in opposite direction of curve than mash.  ~ Haruwolf
Balloon Burst
  • Don’t watch the animation of the characters, focus on the gauge just below!  ~ General_JF
Sky Pilots
  • Pilots: the planes don’t fly in a straight line, but rather in a light angle to the left – keep it in mind as you line up to pick up boosts!  ~ G.M.
  • Flappers: keep a steady rhythm of up-down for maximum speed!  ~ G.M.
  • Pilots: Always stay low as possible, it’s much more easy to lean away from bombs. Try to aim for the bottom middle too, it’s easier to curve to get both rainbows this way.  ~ Haruwolf
Speed Hockey
  • As the player in the front, try to get out of the way for when your teammate on the back tries to return the shell.  ~ Spongyoshi
Cake Factory
  • If you mess up, your character takes a quick second to be upset with him/herself. Wait until after their tantrum before trying again. ~ jbutterfield
  • The conveyor belts will speed up at around 21, 13, and 6 on the timer.  ~ Spongyoshi
Magna Carta
  • Try to have someone on the look-out for when the Treasure Chest becomes available to reach. It should have at least a 2 items gap to be accessible.  ~ Spongyoshi

  • Ground pounds are the strongest move, use your partner to jump on top of the statue and ground pound while your partner punches and kicks.  ~ jbutterfield
Looney Lumberjacks
Torpedo Targets
  • Look at the other team’s screen to see where the next target is or isn’t.  ~ Spongyoshi
Dungeon Dash
  • Once again, the Thwomp is just a distraction, being squished by it is just as fast if not faster than waiting!  ~ Spongyoshi

1 vs. 3 Minigames (11)

Bowl Over
  • With good timing, the pin players can jump over the shell. Easiest to jump over the shell downwards, from the back. However, any nearby pins that get knocked down can still knock you down.  ~ DMG
Crane Game
Move to the Music
  • If the solo player doesn’t enter any dance move, the team still HAS to input a move, any dance move, when the cursor moves over a music note.  ~ Spongyoshi
BOB-OMB Barrage
  • Take your time to aim and try to not fully flick the joystick as the team, a precise shot is better than a flurry of unprecise ones!  ~ Spongyoshi
Look Away
  • To beat the AI-controller players, randomly switch between two directions and stay a bit on one just before switching to the other at the last moment. You’ll usually win using this technique, especially on the Mini-Game Coaster!  ~ Spongyoshi
Shock, Drop or Roll
  • You should always be jumping as one of the three people on the barrel. Try and keep towards the middle of it.  ~ Slyshi
Lights Out
  • As the solo player, only use horizontal swings, vertical ones will reveal your position to the other players AND have less range!  ~ Spongyoshi
Filet Relay
  • After passing your fish for the first time in the team of three, your penguin will slide across the stage to the right and provide an extra obstacle for the single player; try to end your segment on the left side to make the most of this.  ~ piguy314159
Archer-ival
  • As the team, try to walk against the CPU-controlled players like Toad or Boo to prevent them from taking too much space and blocking you off!  ~ Spongyoshi
Quicksand Cache
  • Only four coin bags appear total.  ~ GuerraHard
Rainbow Run

Battle Minigames (8)

Grab Bag
  • Take note of the player with the golden mushroom as quickly as you can. If someone didn’t get stolen yet, aim for them!  ~ Spongyoshi
Bumper Balloon Cars
  • If you hit someone on their side who isn’t moving, they’ll turn around and have their balloon fully exposed!  ~ Spongyoshi
Rakin’ ‘Em In
  • Since it takes the arms a little bit of time to pull in after you press the button, you should press A when the mushrooms you want are next to you instead of in front of you. For example, if you are in the top left, you should press A when the mushrooms are at the very top.  ~ P-Merks
Day at the Races
  • Boo is the best pick and Whomp is the worst pick according my test of 60 races. The results in terms of getting first place:  ~ Spongyoshi
    • Boo – 26 times (13 second)
    • Thwomp – 16 times (22 second)
    • Bob-omb – 15 times (17 second)
    • Whomp – 3 times (8 second)
Face Lift
  • Unlike the predecessor, this one might not require a full pull of a feature, such as mustache, hair or cap – try redimensioning it mentally as you recreate the original picture as well. Two points matter!  ~ G.M.
Crazy Cutters
HOT Bob-omb
  • Try holding the Bob-omb until it’s going to explode (about 4-5 seconds) so you can almost guarantee you’ll eliminate the next player.  ~ MarioPartyMaster
BOWSER’S Big Blast

Item Minigames (6)

Roll out the Barrels
Give me a Brake!
  • Press A when the item you want is right at the cactus in the top left corner (cactus with the pink flower).  ~ SomeWildSeal
Hammer Slammer
  • Lining your mallet up so the head of it is inside the comet’s tail in the background will get you the top prize.  ~ jbutterfield
Mallet-Go-Round
  • The inputs are practically instant but you should still hit the button slightly in advance because it’s more lenient with being early than being late. Basically, try to press right before the item is in front of you.  ~ Spongyoshi
Coffin Congestion
  • The coffins will shuffle five times so only take note of the position of the items after the fifth shuffle before they close.  ~ Spongyoshi
BOWSER Slots
