heres what i think... the miis are going to return weather people like it or not, rosalina might have a part in it like a space or as a host but not as a playable character shes to tall... i read post where peole wanted characters like whomp thwomp or chain chomp wich i think is crazy there is no way they will be playable, and for birdo i would like him to return he is the most kidfriendly transvestite ever  O0 or do you want poison from final fight to take his spot  :-D  i would like pauline to join the party she would be the first human female (not counting miis) with no royal blood... i hope to god that blooper and hammer bro and dry bones DONT return i hated them generic enemies should not be in mario part anything that mario can squish with his foot should not be playable as for koopa kid and donky kong i dont mind if they come back i didnt play as thim when they were in and i still wont if they come back, new characters other than pauline i would like to join would be i KNOW this will not happen but i want plum back  :( but thats just a fantasy so i will be realistic funky kong has a fair chance so dose pety parana i guess

If the trailer is not lying, than Dry Bones and Blooper won't be coming back. We can now hope that Hammer bro, Birdo, Toadette and Boo are coming. I don't mind if Hammer bro is not in, but I really hope Boo and Toadette will be in. I'm dissapointed that Blooper is not returning, he was one of my favourites. I dont mind for Dry Bones, but I still prefer him as playable. As for Birdo, in my opinion it would be nice to have her back. I hope there will be at least 14 playable characters.
It would be a shame to have less characters than Mario party 8 :)
 
I was working on some stuff on the main site and I came across this old news post from 2009. It was the results of a poll we had abut characters we wanted to see playable in Mario Party 9.

1. Rosalina (102 votes)
2. Diddy Kong (62 votes)
3. Shy Guy (50 votes)
4. Petey Pirahna (34 votes)
5. Koopa Troopa (26 votes)
6. Kamek (21 votes)
7. Goomba (15 votes)
8. Wiggler (14 votes)


The way I look at it, Rosalina and Diddy Kong will have a part in the game that renders them unplayable, while Petey Pirahna is kind of too huge. :p That leaves us with Shy Guy and Koopa next in line. NINTENDO IS WATCHING o_0

Yeah considering how much people want DK it would only make sense. Like how they showed Snake in the Brawl E3 trailer, they would want people to be more excited and buy MP9

if he doesn't make it they should really consider putting diddy kong in
 
I personally enjoy playing with generic enemies and I'm so happy Shy Guy is playable. I really hope some characters like Rosalina, Diddy Kong... won't be in the game. Rosalina's too tall and we have enough female characters. Diddy Kong... well, I just don't like him... My wish would be to have all characters from Mario party 8 back plus Koopa and Shy Guy. Boo and Toadette would possibly be back, I can feel it...
