Countdown to Mario Kart 8: Retro Tracks

We are nine days away from getting our hands on Mario Kart 8, one of the most highly anticipated games of this year. As each day seems to slow down to a crawl as we get closer and closer to May 30, let’s take a moment to reflect on what the game has to offer!

Ever since Mario Kart DS, a total of 16 retro tracks from past Mario Kart titles have been updated and included in each new Mario Kart game. Mario Kart 8 is no different, and the detailed amount of upgrades each track has received is unlike any other Mario Kart game to date.

So which retro tracks are you looking forward to the most? Tick Tock Clock from Mario Kart DS is making it’s grand return, and it just so happens to be one of my favorite tracks of all time. Moo Moo Meadows from Mario Kart Wii has gone from a lifeless to breathtaking, and Mario Circuit from Mario Kart: Super Circuit is almost unrecognizable. And Rainbow Road from Mario Kart 64? Wow.

For reference, here are all 16 tracks:

  • Wii Moo Moo Meadows
  • GBA Mario Circuit
  • DS Cheep Cheep Beach
  • N64 Toad’s Turnpike
