Nintendo's Iwata confirms that Wii's successor will "surprise" customers

Looks like Nintendo is already working on the next home console. According to Iwata, the Wii's successor will "surprise" people when officially revealed. What sort of "surprise" could he probably tell us when revealed? HD will most likely not be a surprise. HD is a must now.

They like to screw with us while we wait and search all over the web to see what it might (probably won't) have. =P

I found a video where people are playing Super Mario Bros. with their eyes. This could be part of the successor, but it was Waterloo Labs that conducted this experiment, not Nintendo, so I don't know if this would be included. Oh God, I hope this is not the case. I don't feel like moving my eyes/face to move the player. =P

Oh God, I hope this is not the case. I don't feel like moving my eyes/face to move the player. =P

Yeah, I think that would cause extreme eye strain and vision problems. Who knows, since we are in the motion era of gaming, that could be the next part. Now only if games were made to put you in the game, but not lose you forever in it. =P

Let's hope Nintendo doesn't go that far, a simple controller would do for me. =P 'Course I wouldn't mind being in a game.

Yeah, I don't see why they are making games that don't require a controller. Playing sports games on Kinect, if you can do that, is just like playing it for real, if you get what I mean. Gaming, imo, is suppose to be a different way of playing it, but they're making it so realistic that there isn't much point to make it into a video game, unless you have nobody to play with. =P I think that the controller makes gaming, not just the game itself. I can see it being fun to use your eyes, but after a little bit, they would be in pain from constant movement, I think. =P I wonder if they are actually gonna call the successor the Wii 2...I hope not.

Yup, I wouldn't mind some motion controls, but I don't want the whole console to center around that, y'know?

What do you mean "it's going to"? We don't even know if that's what Nintendo is doing. =P
 
I would really love it if the whole motion thing would just go away. Whatever happened to just playing games with a regular controller? *sigh* This system better not be a big flop.
