How did you guys handle the 3DS control scheme?

It was a little awkward for me at first but after like 3 matches I I was all set. I still fail somewhat at grabbing though. Hopefully I don't wear out my Circle Pad.

I'm literally swapping my guard and grab controls the first moment I get the game.
It just doesn't fit right to have it the way it's set up by default.
Otherwise, I was perfectly fine with the controls. I like playing with the circle pad a lot actually.
^I thought the same; I guess I just naturally see "R" as the more aggressive button and the other controls feel smooth.

Why did you guys torture yourselves with Wii controls? GCN Controls 10/10

I still have trouble jumping somewhat because I am not used to 4 little buttons being close together. :p Definitely not going competitive with the 3DS.

To each their own but Wii controls were so annoying and spread-out everywhere. I guess using the Nunchuk helped somewhat but GCN just seems like the best option since the Wiimotes definitely aren't made for fighters.

Even my friend who is a very casual player hated the Wii controls because of the button layout. I mean when you have to go from a GCN controller to the Wiimote it's a pretty drastic change in handling the gameplay, unlike say going from a PS2 controller to a PS3 controller.

I'm more or less fine with the controls. The inability to C-Stick smash though is ever so slightly depressing to me but I think I will be able to survive without that functionality. I have had troubles with the B button though. Sometimes I've wanted to use my neutral special when instead I use the side special because I was just moving left or right and the circle pad hadn't moved back into it's stationary position quick enough. It's kind of petty, but it's happened to me more than once.

It cramps my hands up a lot.

I'm going to get arthritis playing this game.

Other than that, I love it.
