I don't like SM64

And we lived without her through many ages. Why is she suddenly a must have? In all honesty if any human female (other than Peach and Daisy) diserves it more it would be Pauline. Rosalina isn't NEEDED it's just her huge amount of fans seem to prioritize her over every other princess. Excuse me Rosalina, but Peach was here WAY before you and diserves to be in games where as you only appeared in 4 so far. If she starts appearing in more games then she may be a priority. Like I said though another princess in spin-offs is welcome, but is never a must. Pauline diserves it WAY more than Rosalina to be honest.
Rosalina is suddenly a must have because she is the modern princess who has the best qualities of both Peach and Daisy. It's nice to play as a princess that isn't too feminine or annoying. I don't need to explain her originality and best assets because I assume you already know them by now.
Even when playing the Mario Spin-offs, I always felt like one character was missing. That spot was filled by Rosalina. Pauline doesn't deserve to be a permanent character at all. We hardly know anything about her and she only appears in one minor game. At least we know more about Rosalina than most of the characters and she played a large role in one of the biggest games on the Wii. She also plays a vital role in the galaxy trying to restore Peace and order to the world. Not to mention her kindness and care for the Luma's. What does Pauline do? What does Daisy even do? At least we know more about Peach as the stars in her own game and has the ability to cook as shown in Paper Mario.
It's her differences and uniqueness which makes her stand out of the crowd. Rosalina even has the potential to star in her own game (even though it's very unlikely). Being a princess of space, and having the strength and magic to defeat all enemies combined with her originality, if her popularity grows even more, she has the potential to have an adventure of her own. Having a game based in the cosmos and being able to play a character other than Mario would make a completely epic game. It's not impossible because if Peach could get her own game, then Rosalina could. In-fact, I actually loved Super Princess Peach and it was one of my favourite games because it was a breathe of fresh for a female character to be the main character in a Mario-style game.
I just wish Nintendo would have a poll on their main site which asks people who their favourite characters are and then they can see for themselves that Rosalina is the second most popular character (As shown in Mario Kart Polls) with Yoshi being the top choice. Popularity is a very important factor for any game and if Nintendo payed any attention to their fans, Rosalina would have a permanent place in the spin-offs, whether it's being the host, or being a playable character.
Toad is actually the second most popular MK character, they did a poll long ago.Toblet said:

If the poll was put up a few months after Mario Kart Wii was released, of course Rosalina wouldn't be the most popular character because it was her first playable appearance, and she was one of the hardest characters to unlock for those without Super Mario Galaxy. Most didn't know she existed, but has changed now.

Also it's not surprising, being in both a streamline game and a spinoff game can cause quite a high amount of popularity from the fanbase.Toblet said:So... My vote would have gone to Peach. Rosalina is cool and whatever, but I stil prefer the older Mario characters above her. Now that we have a princess for Love/Fruit, Plants, and Space/Stars I want a princess of water.
As long as she looks more uniqe than the other three. Peach and Rosalina look neerly identical. She needs pigtails to!

I'd like to see her as a playable character but I'm not keen on her outfit and Nintendo (as with a lot of Japanese game developers) have a tendency to recreate Asian people as American people. She's still pretty nonetheless and at least she doesn't look and act like your average princess.
