Will Mario slowly get worse?

How was Sunshine "good"? All of the missions were relaitvely easy and most had the same concept of just cleaning up goop or fighting a super easy boss. The only missions worth noting are the "secret" episodes that has great Mario 3D platforming (which should have been the whole game). The whole FLUDD concept was such crap. Basically adding a lazy twist to the platforming aspect. You could hover to pretty much anywhere with a timed spin jump which lessened the challenge even more. Yoshi's Fruit Adventure, The Caged Shine Sprite, and Mysterious Hotel Delfino were the only episodes I found to be of redeeming quality, but of course, they were ruined by FLUDD. Oh, and of course, let's waste EVERY seventh episode with a s*** easy encounter with Shadow Mario. ALSO WHY DOES YOSHI DISINTEGRATE IN WATER???? The game sucks.

I enjoy Sunshine, but you have to remember no one thinks alike and whats crap to you could be gold to another.

I do hate some Mario games and characters. I usually don't give a flying who ha what others say or think about it. Yea I'm not a big Toad or Rosalina what chu gunna do bought it!? Like if I don't like a character or game you making a big deal of it makes me like them less. :/

I actually agree that the 7th mission could be something other than Shadow Mario- it was a bit repetive, in my opinion. However, I did really like the F.L.U.D.D system- it added Mario to do some more moves and stuff.
Oh, and the 1st Boss in Sirena Beach is very hard for some players.

Hmm, back to the topic.
I think Mario games are getting worse. It was good until Super Mario Galaxy- I didn't like Galaxy 2, and NSMB games other than DS version.
I think they will cope up later, though. Just stop making NSMB games..

Ja.

The whole mechanic of F.L.U.D.D. is what I think made Super Mario Sunshine more enjoyable for me.

It kept the Super Mario 64 elements whilst adding new things. And I definitely loved the Secret Stages. It was a good balance switching to having some classic Mario platforming to using F.L.U.D.D..

Also, easy? I honestly didn't think Sunshine was an easy Mario game, if anything, I thought it was one of the hardest. Comparing Super Mario 64, Galaxy 1, 2 and 3D Land to Sunshine, big difference in difficulty there for me. I never obtained all Shine Sprites in Sunshine due to the difficulty and/or annoyance in some stages. But that's just me.
The regular levels were quite easy, some of the secret levels were quite hard, specifically the pinball level you get to from rocketing through the bridge in the harbour.

I do embrace change. It's just that most of the changes Nintendo brings to the table are usually negative impacts to the overall gameplay experience. To be honest, I prefered SMG2 over Sunshine because they finally got Yoshi right and the challenge factor was at it's highest.

Really? I thought SMG2 was waaaaaaaaay better. I place it 2nd behind SM64. It had a lot more creative gimmicks and had the concept of Yoshi done right, plus it didn't have any lame storyline. Cut right into the action.

(From a mario fanboy)

While I think that they're milking the New Super Mario Bros way too much, I don't think Mario is going downhill. Yeah they've used the same formula since SM64 but in each game there's been something new and interesting to keep the game from being too much of a clone.

Although it's been a while I just generally didn't like the changes they made from SMG1 to SMG2. Starship Mario is lame, there is no story really. Maybe it's just my nostalgia since like I said it's been a while and when I was like 12 I played the game to death and got all 242 stars. :p

I don't feel so inclined to do the same with SMG2. (which I got recently), currently sitting at 119 stars. lol

Blue Coins are also a major complaint of my hatred towards Sunshine. I hate how you would have to switch episode to episode just to find one damn blue coin or how sometimes the Blue Coin wouldn't be there until SPECIFIC conditions were met (like getting Yoshi, even if that Coin didn't even need Yoshi in the first place.......damn idiots). They could have had more compelling episodes and creative elements in hiding the Shines, but nope, collecting 240 Blue Coins apparently sounds like a barrel of monkeys.

Yeah there were a ton of blue coins hidden in strange places making it overly tedious to have to get them, especially since there were 30 in each course. I hated getting the ones at Noki Bay that were hidden in the wall that you had to get.
The ones in Corona Mountain were even harder though. :p
It does add some more replay value in the courses though, still wish they were put into a new world instead though.
