It usually doesn't affect Summer Vacation.
It probably just means his 2nd semester is gonna be shorter than it usually is?
Wednesday the roads were icy and stuff but they only delayed my school by an hour even though all the other local schools just got off, so like half the faculty and students showed up and all we did was watch videos in class and during my frees just played b-ball.

Uh, my team has won 2 games this season due to forfeiting. Don't see how this is strictly an Australian thing.
My basketball team needs someone to forfeit, we gotta win our last 3 games to make the playoffs or hope that winning 2 out of 3 will put us in a tie for 3rd in our division and make us eligible. Wow, your season is long. We only have a 3-game season, and if you get to the top 4, you get an extra 3. Normally we'd have a 13-game season, but we ended up in D2.
WE have like a 10 game season and we manage to lose every game.

Vice versa, seniors are doing ight, yet our juniors are doing horribly apart from my team, our teams are 3rd, 6th and 7th in a 7-team league.
Our Varsity team sucks this year. I had a 28 point season.
We were supposed to play in the NY Tri-State Tourney, but we sucked so badly that we ended the season last week. It was terrible.

My team was extremely good
We only had ONE loss in our division, and there were somewhere between 11 to 14 games played. I think our record is like 12-1, but we did have a couple of losses in the other divisions that didn't count.
That one loss was in the first game of the season, and we forfeited a lot of people because we had a small team, while the other team was stacked
