Retro Studios's Next Game

Another Metroid title? Donkey Kong again? Something completely new?

I think Nintendo has noticed that they can take an existing franchise and create fantastic games from that series, so I would say they are working on a new entry in another Nintendo first party series. I'm guessing Star Fox.

I haven't played any Nintendo games they developed but they should have a try at the Star Fox series.

For something new, I think they could develop an entirely new Luigi game to celebrate the Year of Luigi. I love the two Luigi's Mansions but Retro Studios can try something different. Perhaps an RPG Luigi, or puzzle based.

Kensuke Tanabe denied that they were working an a second DK game, so that can be ruled out.

Retro have been hiring people who know how to create boss battles, so it will be a combat game of some type.

Really? Not even Mario Kart 7? That was co-developed by Retro Studios.

I would hope to see it's a new DK game, but I think that's a bit unlikely for now as we have Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D coming up. I would probably go with either what SirYoshi211 mentioned or a new Star Fox game that SZ mentioned. Personally, I would look forward to a new Star Fox game, as there hasn't one for quite a while. So that's what I hope Retro Studios is working on. Star Fox 64 3D wouldn't count as it's a remake. Yes, I know there could be a new DK game from them, but I'm saying that if they are making a DK game now, then it might feel like a little bit of too much DK business as the Wii game is coming to the 3DS.

Oh, yeah. I knew about the Donkey Kong Country returns course. I just never knew Retro Studios was involved in the Game. So, I guess I did play one of their games.

Star Fox could use a completely new game in the series. It's been many years since Command.

i agree star fox definetly needs a new game its been way to long and i miss the barriel Roll but if its not star fox theres always a chance it could come later in the Wii U life time or it could be metroid still be cool.

Metroid! Similar to Metroid Prime of course, but with perhaps some online multiplayer. The series is dying for some expansive online multiplayer, and I think Retro would be able to pull it off.

I hope it's isn't F-Zero. At least not yet. With Mario Kart U supposedly coming at the end of this year it will get overshadowed so not F-Zero yet. In order of want I'd like Metroid, Raven Blade(?) or New IP then Starfox.

Or have alternate dimensions or time travel or something to get rid of Krystal.

I want my new and freshly made DK game nowwww, it has been way too long since the kongs has even tasted the action. I don't want a remake, I want a entirely new game with new elements and features. As for the enemies, the tiki's are just fine but it will be even more intense if the kremlings make a return or maybe a alliance. 8)

The game Retro Studios was working on was Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. If anyone want to discuss their thoughts about this, do so now, because this topic doesn't have much purpose after E3 2013.
