Yeah, but I mean you'd think they'd let you change it on the PS3 itself rather than have to log on online to change it.
Of course all you have to do is retype a new password in the password box and you'll just get logged in even without putting your old one in. Sony will eventually send you an email about your password getting changed.

Seriously? If I'm understanding you right that seems really insecure.

I'll have to let my boyfriend know to try that if he hasn't already fixed it, which he probably hasn't because he's been busy playing Portal 2.

It is insecure but eventually they send you an email about your password being changed and if YOU didn't change it or inserted the password wrong you can click a link they send you to work everything out and do something about it.

I find it hilarious that people assume Microsoft's Xbox Live is better/safer than PSN eventhough it hasn't been hacked YET. It would be so stupid just to get rid of your PS3 just because the online is gone and buy a 360. It still plays games perfectly and is the most powerful beast in the gaming industry but the only thing it doesn't have is online for a short time. People need to learn that Patience is a Virtue, Virtue is a Grace, Grace is the girl with the smile on her face. :)
