In fairness tho I was planning on changing my sig but got lazy and haven't made a replacement. >.> It's actually 288px tall tho which is BIG (given the image is scaled it's actually bigger so >.>)

Blue Toad's is always massive,  Hathaway's is big, Maxime's was relatively large and a gif, and maybe it's just the placement of yours but the gif in yours makes it super tall.

If everyone agrees that we can have a size limit for sigs, we can implement that. We just need to all agree on an exact height and width.

What I was mentionning was my point of view, not the same as Snowy.

Unless they would be cluttering my whole web browser, like, let's say, that I am obliged to put the page down just to pass the sig, I would find it's a problem.

I don't see a problem with them as they seems alright and in the worst browsers, let's say, in a mobile one, as I mentionned above your posts, there's something in the settings where you can check to don't show sigs and it's as easy as that.

At the worst, you can do so. That's what I'm trying to say. (I know I don't have any problems with my sigs and any others, but I'm just saying that I would not bother turning that option on at the worst case.

Something like my sig is more in width than in height. (678 width x 159 in height) But I guess it's less cluttering than having one which instead in height.

A sig will never bump to the next page. Pages are determined by the number of posts on it and then after 10/15/20 you go to the next one. I can have 5 images in my sig, all of them being 10,000x1 and I can post 15 times on that page before anything happens to the pages.

A sig will never bump to the next page. Pages are determined by the number of posts on it and then after 10/15/20 you go to the next one. I can have 5 images in my sig, all of them being 10,000x1 and I can post 15 times on that page before anything happens to the pages.

It's not really what I was saying, just when I have to scroll down through the page to see the sig, like if I would only see this "said" picture through the page I'm browsing. I do indeed know how pages work (I'm a forum veteran) and have no problem with those things. At the worst, just put off the sigs in your settings, that's what I would do instead of doing complaints against others. It would be indeed a better idea instead of having others to absolutely change for your likings, just saying.

By nature, sigs are usually 150 by (Hopefully less than 750). Hathaway's sig is really too damn big, have you seen the size? By nature, that not even a sig. No one is changing for anyone's liking, if your sig is just too damn big then we have a problem that needs to me ameliorated. Also, what you just stated is the actions you take when sigs are big, not everyone will agree with your actions (IE. I don't)

Or you know you can just set a limit to how big it can be and make the forum look neater and cleaner.

Exactly. Just because you can put it there doesn't mean you should. A signature is exactly what its name is. When you sign something you don't take up an entire page.

Bold part is a little right... Mine is actually below that though, but I guess you're alright with some of those and I understand your point of view and that we don't act similiar, I'm mostly trying to help others even if I don't have problems with this personally as I usually don't put huge sigs anyways. (It was just to help others and to see what I think of, that's it.)


And anyways, as I personally know those sort of forums well, I know it could be restricted by an admin or SuperZambezi with help of some admin stuffs so I guess it's why he's talking about "restricting". This way, no one could put more huge signatures anymore, even those which are actually with those. I just don't get why people would be forced especially that I don't see any problem personally. I'm just trying to actually "discuss" of what could be done to evade the problem instead. Anyways, I'm done now. I guess I know what you want and there's that and the choice can't be mine or yours anyways, but I know I can share my opinion at least, it can help staff's decision.

I don't think there needs to be an exact length by width limit on sigs, I think the staff can make a judgement call on who's sig is too big and stuff. But either way is fine as long as sigs like those dumb big sigs blue toad always has are gone.

If sigs are too big, then they should be removed or re-sized. This is a thing on many forums, people don't wanna scroll through your giant sigs, especially when you're on mobile and it lags the connection. Blue Toad's sig before was just obnoxious, and Hathaway's I think is very big, so I will PM him about that. Maxime, I think your sig is kind of big, so I would re-size it a bit and it be fine imo.

Yeah, and this way, it would be completely resized without even having to change anything. It's somewhat useful for me when I used to have to do so because at least you don't have to completely modify or restarting to do the picture! When you only put one the height/width will be resized to a conveniant size to don't deform the picture (basically divised by 2) but you can also put both if you want particuliar measures for the actual picture by writing width and height each separated while putting an equal sign after each of those.

Maxime, I think your sig is kind of big, so I would re-size it a bit and it be fine imo.

I don't think a ton of users know how to do that. Since I see a lot of people post these huge images (like off the top of my head the images VIP posted in the Dual Destinies thread) and i'm just like, "Use the width tag!"
