Internet names. Internet names are different than their actual names.

Congratulations to John Numbers for becoming the Nintendo American Champion! He got a trophy and a New Nintendo 3DS XL, signed by Shigeru Miyamoto! The runner-up was Cosmo!
Fixed the title you gave. :p

I don't care if Shigeru Miyamoto came on stage and presented anything, if only Americans were allowed to participate, then you can't call it a "World" Championships. That's final.

*goes and pouts in a corner how he couldn't even try out because he was Canadian and would have loved the chance to at least participate...

It's the World Championships. Blame Nintendo for naming that instead of naming it to be USA only.

Well, what do you know? Nintendo said it plans to hold another Nintendo World Championships next year.

The whole championships were positive throughout last Sunday. You guys better study your games if you plan to try it out again next year!
Meh, it felt cool that this year was the first time in 25 years that this would be a thing, but having it next year is kinda uncreative. Don't get me wrong, this year's was epic, and they showed Super Mario Maker, so maybe next year they'll plan to show off another game yet to be released to hype us up.

They may also plan to show off the next console, the NX.

An update to the post said that is untrue, luckily. It would ruin the event's excitement if it was yearly.
Yeah, noticed a while back. Next year or more years into the future, there will likely be another one.

I've been saying that I think it will be every five years. Get practicing for 2020!

Why every five years? That's too long of a wait.
(This isn't like the summer Olympics, but 5 years. :p)

If it is too common, it would ruin the excitement of the event. You wouldn't want a yearly Olympics, would you?
The Olympics is different. There are new Nintendo games every year...
