Mario Party 9 Characters

If Toadette doesn't come back in this Mario Party, I bet it's safe to consider her abandoned.  That's sad for me to say, considering she is my favorite character.  I played her since her first debut.  >.>

I hope Blooper doesn't come back..  and I'll miss Dry Bones.  Also, Birdo will probably be playable in the game since she was on the box art (Probably not..  but who knows!)

In the console Mario Parties, there would be more in each game.  MP3 - added two characters.  MP5 - added three characters.  MP6 - added on character.  MP7 - subtracted one and added two new ones.  MP8 - added two new characters.

It wouldn't make sense if they just left ten playable characters in Mario Party 9.  Not really a party with only ten characters.  I think there was fifteen characters in total since MP8.

I don't know, that's my view of it.  They should add more characters than just ten.  Just saying.
 
I think since Birdo and Yoshi are right next to each other on the box art, she's a playable character.  I don't see what other role she'd play in the game anyway, since she's been playable in tons of other games as of late (Fortune Street, most sports games, all the most recent Mario Party's).

All that's missing, to keep up the pattern of pairing up the characters again like they did in Mario Party 7 and 8, is Toadette.  I say, for now, that she's very likely to be in.  She better be, I missed her in Mario Kart 7 :'(

Shy Guy/Koopa

11 characters on a final roster seems awkward, especially with Toad being all on his lonesome and giving the other characters feasible "partners".  So I say Toadette's in, even though she's not on the box art (well, neither is Luigi, so she still has a shot).  That would make the roster at least 12 characters. 

Another option is that Yellow Toad could be a partner for Toad, since he was on the box art, but I think he'd be more likely as the host of Toad Road.

I think your right, but Shy Guy and Koopa don't really fit for a partnership, so it's possible Dry Bones or Hammer Bro is still in, and people are saying Cheep-Cheep is going to be a playable character because he's/she's on the box art right next to Mario and is very noticeable, so it would look like this

Mario/Luigi
Peach/Daisy
Wario/Waluigi
Yoshi/Birdo
Toad/Toadette
Dry Bones/Hammer Bro/Koopa
Blooper/Cheep-Cheep/Shy Guy

But who knows for now.
 
I'd say Hammer Bro's more likely at this point than Dry Bones.

Kamek's role in the game is unknown and I could see it possibly making a playable appearance...  I don't see Blooper or Cheep Cheep working well as partners for Shy Guy, tbh.  And since Shy Guy and Koopa are so close on the box art together, I could see them being a default pair like I suggested before.  But who knows? 

It's fun to speculate though.  :)
 
I can't seem them just having 10 characters, that's a massive downgrade from MP8 from 14 to 10. There has to be more.

Boo, I'm really hoping for a return. Along with Toad, Boo is just not good as a host anymore.
Koopa Kid I honestly don't see returning with Bowser Jr. appearing.
Toadette is really up for debate, she hasn't appeared in a game since 2008, if she's not in this Mario Party, I think it's safe to say Nintendo removed her for good.
Birdo, I think it's safe to say she returns. She has been appearing in more games lately (ex: Fortune Street) so I wouldn't doubt her in there.
Dry Bones was in a Mini-Game where a bunch of Dry Bones were on the game, it would be too confusing if there was one Dry Bones playable, and a bunch moving around.
Hammer Bro. is really ehhhh in terms of chances returning, I hope he returns though, he was interesting.
Blooper I can definitely not see returning, if he is in, I will really be shocked.



Overall, I predict the character roster would look something like this:
Mario/Luigi
Peach/Daisy
Yoshi/Birdo
Wario/Waluigi
Toad/YellowToad (or possibly Boo if they decide to add him)
Koopa/Shy Guy

Hammer Bro, Boo, and Blooper is possible, but idk.



 
I don't think that any more characters will be added since they would probably appear on the boxart. Here are duets that I think will be.
Mario / Luigi          ) Mario Bros.
Peach / Daisy        ) Apparently Cousins as said by Mario Kart: DD's Prima Official Guide
Yoshi / Toad          ) Teamates for Mario Sports Mix
Wario / Waluigi    ) Wario Bros.
Shy Guy / Koopa  ) Enemies

I do hope that Boo can appear. Earlier, whenever Boo was needed, they used Pink Boo. I think Pink Boo might appear.
