Mario Kart: Super Circuit

Uhh, yeah. It's F***ing horrible.

Oh well, if you put like THAT... ::)

HAHA, it's like I'm arguing with a 16-year... oh yeah, I am. Lemme put it into terms you'll understand:

Oh crap. You're right. You're 3 years older than me. Oh my god. My statements must be total crap then and I must not know a lot about Mario Kart then. I'm so sorry, Cody. I must have missed your great "19-year-old" wisdom. Hey, you know what? Maybe VIP is smarter than me just because he is 20-something years ol- OH WAIT.

Seriously, your argument turns to crap when you pull out the "I'm older than you so i'm right" card out of your butt. Just because you are 19 doesn't mean you don't know everything, and especially you don't know more about the world and gaming than I do. So please. Drop that argument. As far as i'm concerned, I'm arguing with an illogical fool, not some 19-year-old. Aaaah, feels good to have more maturity.

Most items take absolutely no skill to use, are generally way too powerful and are completely impossible to avoid without having a necessary item.

Ok?

Do you honestly want Nintendo to make items like this?:

PRESS THE A BUTTON TO OPEN THE BOX, THEN PRESS R AND L TO SELECT THE ITEM. THEN, USING THE LEFT CONTROL STICK, USE THE C BUTTONS TO UNLEASH THE ITEM. TO CONTROL THE KOOPA SHELLS, USE THE RIGHT JOYSTICK. TO CONTROL BLUE SHELLS, USE THE-

And again, compare the Blue Shells with MKWii and Double Dash. Both last longer and are more damaging. The DS's version only lasts you a good 3 seconds because there is no knockback effect unlike in Wii or DD. Red Shells can be easily avoided by going around a wall or obstacle.

Again, if you want to compare items and say that the item system in DS is bad, than you really need to play Wii and DD a lot more then.

For example, items like the Spiny Shell used to be very rare in the previous Mario Kart games but, in Mario Kart DS, they seem to show up over 3 times in a single race. That and the damn things FLY. The Spiny Shells only help out whoever's in 2nd/3rd and do nothing for the players who are way behind.

So, i'm guessing you don't like any challenge in games, then? And who cares if the things "fly"? You would rather have the N64 Spiny Shell where everybody gets hit? OR would you rather avoid the f***** and let it hit the person with the lead? Seems more fair to me, but alright, apparently every person needs to be "equal" in the game in order for it to be challenging.

Another pretentious bulls*** item is the Lightning Bolt. This s*** comes completely without warning, completely screws up power slides and causes you LOSE your item. Actually, in all cases, both the Spiny Shell and the Lightning Bolt make you lose your item (why punish people who wait until the right time to use items rather than blindly hammering away at the X button? Because the former uses actual strategy, which Mario Kart doesn't seem to like).

Again, you dislike challenge. Basically, a typical fanboy response. AWWW THIS ITEM ISN'T FAIR BECAUSE IT SCREWS ME UP. I bet when you get the Lightning Bolt, you scream out like a ditzy schoolgirl on speed.

If you're in 7th or 8th, the game may grant you an item called the Bullet Bill. Using this autopilots your kart with immense speed, makes you invincible to every situation and propels your kart for 1/2 a lap, knocking all of the players unfortunate to be on mighty Bullet Bill's turf out of the way.

I finally can agree with you. The Bullet Bills need to go.

This might not seem like much, but when you get hit by 4 Spiny Shells, 3 Bloopers, several Red Shells and two bolts of Lightning in a single race, that's too much.

What about all that "oh im such a good player and blah blah blah" crap? If you truly were, you'd be able to live through that crap.

Really, you're gonna tell me that the Egg 1 is one of the worst tracks in the game despite it being used to obtain several world records? That's amusing as hell. Nobody gives a F*** about Mario's whatever or Luigi's piece of s*** thing (unless you're talking about the vacuum).

Statistically, it's inferior. Besides, these "world records" could possibly be bulls***. How do we know it wasn't hacked? How do we know if it didn't have modifications?

That whole AI argument is completely void since it has been used for every Mario Kart game starting with Super Circuit. In other words, it's a trend, making your point void.

*sigh* I love fanboys who try to pull off their "errrgh i got the world record blah blah blah" crap, so that automatically makes them know everything about the damn game. All your points are basically complaints complaints complaints and most of them are illogical. I'm sorry, but by reading your statements, it seems like you want to take the challenge out of Mario Kart completely.

In DS, the top 3 AI will only speed up if they won the 1st race. If they don't, then 3 new random ones will take place.

@ Aegis:

k, first and foremost, the age thing was a joke. Most of the s*** I replied to you with was reworded from the Mario Kart DS review I wrote when I was 15. I honestly, truthfully have no problems when any age group whatsoever (mostly because I already know how it feels to be said age group and I respect people of all ages).

And about you knowing about more gaming in general than me, cool, go ahead, I really don't care. I admit I hardly play the damn things anymore and that I only know in-depth things about select games.

I'm just gonna quote this (avoiding all your other BULLs***) and say that yeah, I did live through it. I beat the damn game with no problems asked back in the day before I discovered snaking.

I'm not stating all of this because *I* have problems. I'm stating this because most players aren't as good at games as I am (yeah, I am being arrogant, but I'm also stating the truth) and if these problems affected me (and not my victory) then you can damn well bet they affected everyone else too. It's just that many people don't want to come forth with this because they don't have the balls to say how horrendous Mario Kart in genernal has become since 2003, if you want the truth.

And instead of calling me a "fanboy" (when, in reality, Mario Kart, or Mario in general, isn't even one of my favorite things about gaming) perhaps you can start being a bit more mature. At least, for the most part, I was calm and rational in my last post, unlike the vast majority of your replies.

One more thing, N64 Spiny Shell had to be fired at a particular angle to ensure it didn't die out. THAT's skill (you might argue it's "stupid," but I find it skillfull)

The multiplayer mode only had different colored Yoshis?

No, it never did, for Mario Kart.
Mario Kart: Super Circuit had multiplayer... every Mario Kart had multiplayer idk what you're saying. :p
should have elaborated a bit more. I was talking about the Yoshis that Shaby was trying to address.
I believe it had that for "Single-Pak" mode.

I thought it was Shy Guy, not Yoshis for that.

That's Mario Kart DS.

@Cody: Why the f*** would you waste your time posting all that crap when you really didn't mean any of it? You wasted my time arguing with you and it made it seemed like we were two fools bickering like an old couple in diapers.

You're the immature one for thinking that was actually valid discussion.

No! YOU'RE immature! :(

But honestly, I really do find the game to be that imbalanced (granted I haven't played it in depth in 4.5 years... though that'll be my next priority after I beat Mario 64 DS for the first time in 6) because everything I've said about the items is true. You could interpreted them as "eh, not so bad" or "oh god, they're F***ing awful" and I lean toward the latter, especially when it comes to items like the lightning bolt, flying shell and Bullet Bill. Also, when you say I don't like a challenge, it's hardly a challenge when all these things happen every 5 seconds of the match. I did a count once and I was hit by 4 red shells, 5 Blue Shells, 2 Bloopers and a Lightning Bolt throughout the whole match (3 turn Delfino Plaza). That's what I mean by that.

And quite frankly, I don't find it fair in the slightest that the CPUs are able to use items when shocked by lightning. I've seen it happen multiple times.
