That's because DD had huge Karts; MK7 had tiny ones. Don't get me wrong, I'd absolutely love him to replace MM, but you may as-well leave Bloopers Ink on your screen for the entire duration of the race.★Plum★ said:

If they can shrink the huge Honey Queen and not bat an eye then I'm sure they could do the same for Petey, but we have no idea what the Karts in MK8 are really going to be like, so for all we know they are big enough to hold Petey with you still being able to see. If they do shrink his head just don't make it SO shrunken that it doesn't look like Petey.
HQ is a normal shape and that's why it works for her. Yes we'll just have to wait for MK8. If they decide to keep the bikes though, Petey will not be in. Seeing as how Nintendo just dumped a ton of Mario characters suddenly it's hard to say. They should bring back the feature from Mario Kart DD where 2 characters can ride one kart, and some boards from the past like Daisy Cruise
