Mario games you think are overrated

Comparing something from 1985 to something in 2007 is like comparing an airplane to the creation of the wheel. When the wheel was created, it was the most exciting thing around. Nowadays, we look at the wheel and think "Meh", because it's such a basic part of our lives. Still, we must give it credit for being invented. Had it not been invented, cars would not exist, and neither would bicycles. That's the same with SMB and SMG. If we didn't have SMB, we wouldn't have SMG. Even if you don't like the gameplay, that doesn't mean other people don't like it either. At the time it was created, that was the best gameplay around. You have to give it credit for creating the Mario series, and thus, SMG. I personally believe that that is enough for people to like the game a lot.

I never said that people shouldn't like them. Just that I didn't.

Did you even ******* read any of my posts? Looking at YOUR posts, it appears that you didn't read ANY of mine. How about you learn to respect people's opinions, as I have, thank you very much.  :mad:
 
I tried, but dude, it's practically IMPOSSIBLE to respect your batshit opinions when you pretty much take a dump on most of the quality Mario games and praise the ones are clearly sub-par. Yeah, I get it. "Most people only like the older games due to nostalgia and in turn don't care about the 'better', new Mario games." Then you use YouTube as a basis for your reasoning. YOUTUBE. Of fucking COURSE someone who LIKES Super Mario Sunshine is going to look up a gameplay video, comment with "SMS is the best!" and of COURSE people are going to criticize Mario Party 4-735374834 while praising the N64 ones.
 
It at all started because I discussed MKDS' flaws in a decently large amount of depth. Then you come along and attempt to nullify my opinions... and it kinda seems like you've been nullifying others' opinions too. Why can't I do the same to you? Is there a book titled "Thou Shall Not Argue With Lord 'Wiiboy' Almighty"?

I'm not trying to start stuff, but I'm clearly not the only one in this thread who doesn't see where you're coming from regarding a lot of these games. You base your opinions off of a small fanbase as well as trailers that have no merit towards the actual quality of the game. That's just judging a 3 hour movie based on a 1 1/2 minute preview.

No, it all started because you called me a 100% obvious troll, and trying to, and geting everone else to, disregard me. There is a difference between being blatantly and extremely obnoxious and having a debate.

Mind filling me in on that "trailer" stuff you're talking about? I have no idea what you're going on about. UNLESS you're talking about the 3DS games which I changed to overhyped, which only make up about 10% of the list anyway.

I dislike the games because I've played them (at least most of them, I forget) and had a negative opinion towards them.

And if you weren't trolling, I'm sorry, but I gave you the benefit of the doubt since many people in this thread couldn't agree with your opinions since they aren't even really opinions. It seems like you're looking at things through tinted glasses and as a result, it's entirely apparent that you can't see the beauty in games and instead parametrize their every flaw (or flaws you create, in some circumstances) based on little petty things that shouldn't matter in the long run. Do you do this type of crap on purpose (seriously asking, by the way)? But then again, you might not. I really have no idea. Sometimes it just seems like there are people on the internet that you just can't agree with nor could they ever look at things in your perspective, you being one of them (no offense met).

Also, I wouldn't say it's your opinions that make you a troll, but the way you present your opinions. You have every right to dislike a game but calling Mario Party 3 or Mario Sunshine overrated based on YouTube videos isn't the way to do it. Hopefully that clears things up (I have a feeling this'll do nothing though and that I wasted 5 minutes of my life preparing this post for literally no reason).

They are opinions. Agreeanace upon those leaves me indifferent towards that. I admit that most of what I believe  contradicts most others' opinions, and I will not settle for less or more to be on par with them just because I'm not.

It's funny how you did the same thing to Mario Kart DS just now and now you're castigating me.

Oh, and by the way, I've owned both games and my opinion formed on them is not "just some YouTube trailer video", once again.

Hopefully that clears things up (I have a feeling this'll do nothing though and that I wasted 5 minutes of my life preparing this post for literally no reason).

Vip, please don't link me to this thread time after time (which is the only reason why I bother going back to it). Wiiboy, please don't reply to this, for I will not see this nor reply. You win. What you say is right and I'm wrong entirely. If anything, this is over MARIO games on a MARIO PARTY FORUM and this is so trivial that is doesn't or shouldn't matter at all.

Is it due to the fact that Wii came out just a short while after DS, unlike the time gap between DS and the older ones?
