I'd like to know how you counter being chain locked/spammed.

Please, tell me.
Chain lock... you mean chain crabbing (SSB)?

I remember King DeDeDe being the king of that technique, he can do it to a long extent, but nothing goes on forever.

Stay out of reach?  :(
Abuse a projectile while staying out of DeDeDe's reach. If D3 is not trying for a chain crab, the player could be just setting you up to eat it. Keep analyzing what you and your opponent do.

And what comes to spamming... it could cover nearly any move. I could spam a slow move, but let's say it's slow enough to nearly get myself killed. You're not stupid, so you don't eat that slow move and make me pay for it instead.

There's a solution, sometimes it's harder to come up with one. In very rare cases, there is none.
One effective way to learn from mistakes, is to record plenty of matches and take a look at them afterwards.
"Oh man, I shouldn't have roll dodged on that part!"

Yeah, I know the feeling.

I don't think you get it Muggs. =P No one should be spamming. And I hope were talking about the same spamming. I mean like CONSTANTLY using the same or over using a move. Your calling me a scrub for disliking spamming? That's completely stupid since NOT LIKING SPAMMING isn't scrubbish, it's scrubbish to think spamming is OK. :V

Spamming isn't my weakness, I'm not stupid enough to go next to someone while there spamming up a storm. I just can't stand when a person wins over using the same powerful move. As I said, if your spamming, you clearly are not good and are just using the same move cuz you can't do somethig relatively decent. But I'm done arguing with you, you continue to think spamming is OK, I don't care. But it will always be wrong, scrubbish, and awful to do to me. :U

Well, if the whole match is formed from one constant move, then, I guess it gets boring. But if you win, you win. The game only knows winning and losing. I'd rather win the boring way instead of losing the flashy way. Ignorance is bliss sometimes.

I already told you, as long as spamming works, I will use it. But if I were to spam against you, it probably wouldn't work. That means I have to do something else instead.

Much like you continue think spamming is not OK.  :p
Spamming is okay as long as it works, but the second it stops working, then it's NOT okay. Then it's time for mix-ups and all that.

We agree to disagree. Fair enough. *bows*

And thanks.

No, not at all. :p

I mean getting stuck (or sticking someone) into a combo/chain that doesn't really end, and is usually an automatic win.

Hmm... well, if it's not chain crab...

Combo, that doesn't end... it can't be SSB Brawl, since with every step of a combo each hit is practically mindgame'd... (or could it be...)

Sorry, I honestly have no idea what you're trying to say. Pics to help the poor dude here out?  ???

I'm not even talking about SSBB.

I'm talking about BlazBlue, Street Fighter, etc. etc.

Oh, infinite?

Tatsunoko vs Capcom has Mega Crash, that helps to prevent infinites from happening, but it takes two hyper bars in the process, though as you take damage, the hyper meters build up, so eventually you'd get out of it and Baroque combo the opposition to oblivion.

Except that one Soki/Karas infinite was removed from Ultimate All-Stars version, so no worries about infinites on that one. Same goes for Dissidia, that had some stupid Cloud infinites but were removed from overseas release.

So with that I'm not even sure if there's infinites in more recent games to be honest. Sure, guessing wrong three times in a row can cost a round, but it's not an infinite now, is it?

There are some Raged Death Combos in Tekken 6 (in which the player utilises the Rage mode's additional strenght) for plenty of characters, but they are so dependant they're pretty much useless in a real match. It's a very high price to pay, seeing how rage mode is activated with 10 % of health left. And that is usually when you happen to be already screwed. It never hurts to give a try, but it'd be 1/1000000000 for a Raged death combo to ever happen (from full health, that is).

The only advice I can come up with is to not get yourself into one.

Because I can control lag, other variables, the person actually being good, etc.

Your argument makes no sense.
And neither did your post.
Do I sense someone giving up? :3
Who knows, I'm not even sure myself.

But lag? Who plays online seriously anyway, especially fighters? Offline is where it's at, bro.

Computers are irrational in gaming. You need a human with a mind, emotion, and self-awareness to have a real match.

Of course offline is boring if you have no-one to play with you.  ::)

Online is quite foul, even if there seems to be zero lag, there still is input delay, if only slight. And that's enough for throws to become godly in Tekken online, as they usually have a 14 frame escape gap, something people rarely can react to (unless you're a korean). When they do eventually react, it's already too late due to that slight input delay and throw escaping becomes futile.

Or alternatively, your ping value is horrible.

Playing online is a different experience to offline - it is incredibly unjustified to say one is better over the other. (I'm assuming offline is local matches)

Systems that involve massive depletion of Super bar or similar are there for emergencies, but the possibility of comebacks are still there - it just depends on concentration and skill at that moment.

I've never heard of scrubby infinites - wouldn't they be invalidated?

@Matt: Cheap moves - valid but annoying. Items - which game? Running away - fine but not the best tactic for ranged campers.

@kingboo: CPUs are predictable, making them not irrational. Perhaps you meant the irrationality of humans adds that extra dimension?

I should have made myself more clear. Well, I... I'm usually not annoyed at most online gamers. Yes... humans are capable of being irrational as well. Computer are irrational (using the definition of lacking in logic) due to their constantly repeated moves. Oh wait... I'm being wrong again.

Imma take this debate back a page or so back to the part about wanting to win bad. I don't play fighter games but when I'm playing a game, yea I'd sure as hell love to win but winning cheaply is pretty crappy. It isn't all about winning, sometimes it's just about having fun playing a fair game.

Just sayin.
