Treese on Games: Release Dates Galore

cttt3
Good news for Captain Toad fans as it will release in 2014 after all.

Treese On Games is a Sunday column where Tyler Treese takes a look back at all of the week’s gaming news and gives his thoughts.

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U finally got a release date of November 21st for North America, December 5th in Europe and December 6th in Japan. It is incredibly frustrating that Nintendo continues to not be able to orchestrate worldwide launches with its large series. Its a shame for fans of the series that North America gets it earlier than other territories. Hopefully the wait will be worth it as Super Smash Bros. for Wii U looks to be a fantastic game. I really enjoyed my hands-on time with the game earlier this year and can’t wait to play it.

  • Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker finally has a release date of December 5th for North America. The title which was already delayed to 2015 in other territories was rumored to also be delayed in North America but thankfully that is not the case. We also got a price date of $39.99 for the game. Will you be picking up Captain Toad when it launches? Does the budget pricing make it more likely for you?
  • Amiibos also received a release date as they will be coming out the same day as Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. A second wave of Amiibos were announced including Nintendo favorites such as Diddy Kong, Little Mac, Luigi, Captain Falcon, Pit, and Zelda. They will be releasing in December. I need a loan because I want all of these.
  • Toadette was revealed as a playable character in Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker. While a lot of the users here were very excited I felt pretty indifferent about the news. I don’t have any attachment to the character at all but i’m glad those who like Toadette can play as her. Hopefully we see Toadsworth as a character as well!
  • In our Question of the Week feature I asked what WarioWare game was your favorite. My vote went towards WarioWare: Twisted. I think its one of the best Game Boy Advance games period and I hope we get a release on the Wii U VC as the GamePad’s gyrometer would work wonderfully with the game.
  • Thank you to all that joined in playing Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS with me last Tuesday. It was a lot of fun and we’ll have to organize another play session when i’m less busy!

Thanks for reading and I hope to get your thoughts in the comments below!
