Why do people hate MP8?

Personally, I really like MP8. There are a couple things about it I don't like, but they don't bother me enough to say the game sucks. I don't see why so many people hate it so much.

People say the candy and the story is childish, but isn't the whole Mario Party series childish to begin with? XD
 
Mario Party 8 is cool but the story mode is a little to dramatic. They took the "putting a orb/capsule" concept out which made the game boring especially for 50 turns and some of the boards are luck based. Mini-Games are very cool but they could have made it better. Using Bitsize candy is luck and no duel / chance spaces which is the basis of the fun. Why use a duelo candy and have to roll to a player to duel them. That's kind of stupid.

For you at least. For others not so much. The world doesn't revolve around your thoughts man, you gotta respect people's different opinions about the game.

A little is an understatement. The turns take forever. I could never do a 20 turn game with my cousins cause they got bored at turn 8 and quit. But we can go through MP6 or 7 easily.
 
Goodness.  I think it just got boring.  Nothing to actually make me want to continue.  The others had great stuff.  Like in 2, I wanted to get the secret trees and in five that was that robotic vehicle fighting thing.


Nothing made me want to play the game more.

Also, I think it lacked minigames and the ones it did have, weren't that exciting.

I WANT TO MAKE SOME STRAWBERRY CAKES, DAMMIT!

I Reckon MP8 Was The Worst MP Out Of All Of Them - (i'm not counting mario party ds and advance and arcade ones)
It Because Of The Minigames and The Storyline I Reckon. The Minigames Were Too Short - Nothing Exciting Only Some.

I Think They Should Look Back At MP1,2,3,4,5,6,7, And Get Ideas For Minigames Because The Minigames Sucked I reckon

Oh yes. I seriously hated that. It annoyed me to death.

But also, the Candy was a big let down...I did prefer the Capsules/Orbs much better.
And there were an overload of Duel Mini-games which could have been also played as 4 player Mini-games. That was a disappointment. There wasn't a lot of 4 player Mini-games...so I had to keep playing the same ones OVER and OVER.
