Mario Party 9

I could not believe it we I saw the Mario Party 9 logo at the end of the show. ITS TIME TO PARTY AGAIN! My hope was lost with Mario Party, especially after Wii Party and the disappointment of MP 8. I still believe in my theory that MP 8 was supposed to be a Gamecube game for 2006, but Nintendo pushed back the date till next year for a Wii release. You can tell that MP 8 seemed to be somewhat low quilaty on Wii. From the MP 9 video I saw, it seems that they really took their time with this in terms of the mini-games. The mini-games all look fun, but not very much showing of the board maps though.

I agree! Mario Party 8 was totally horrible. I hope they improve the graphics just a little for MP9, though, because the spaces especially looked ugly (that's just what I notice a lot in the games -- I really liked the octogonal spaces in MP6 because they looked more dimensional than the flat-looking circular spaces. But that's more of a pet peeve than anything I guess x3). I feel like the boards in MP8 were a little too crazy, too... They were all over the place and not fun. I love awesome boards.
 
Hereeeee comes the fanboys/girls, thinking that MP9 will be totally tubular!!!

Perhaps it might be a new gimmick. Also I think that the original gameplay is still in the game as if you see 0:30 in the trailer, you'll see Peach jumping across platforms in a Mario Party board (no car here).

Yeah, but there was no dice roll there, and there were only green spaces there. The panels on the left is still the same, so that area could be a secret area. It could only mean that Peach jump out of the vehicle and will return to the vehicle in the same turn.

To me in the trailer it looks like its Peach's Turn and she lands on a space, causing the plant to eat her which took her to that underground place.
