The best thing to do in this mini-game: spam the A button while waiting for the Whittle to place an object.

It just looks plain silly, but it is risky unless you have a really good reaction time. :U

Considering I do that while battling Master CPUs....

I've done that before. But I still manage to win even so. XD

This is why a good reaction time is needed for that. Being too fast means that I will hit the Bob-Omb, so yeah, to look carefully is the key in that. You must be sure it's something that you can hit and not a Bob-Omb, but at the same time, you must have a better reaction than your opponents because this will not help you to win. With computers, for me, this thing could usually happens at times that I will hit one  of these because I'm always in a hurry to be able to cut the wood log first. But when I do that, I know there's a risk of getting hit. So, most of the time, I'm trying to look carefully to be sure it's not the case. But it's for fun, so I take time to relax and I let see my reflexes.
