Item Shop

Back in Mario Party 2 and 3 (maybe 4?) you had the option to pretty much buy any item you wanted from the item shop. The prices were always the same regardless of your rank. In the newer games, you only ave the option to pick from three items the are preselected and the prices vary depending on your rank. Do you think this is fair?

I think they should go back to the way the had it before. Let us choose what item we want and don't force luck into the item shop too. >.< I'm kind of okay with the prices varying. I could have it either way.

They have to stop with the "special deals" for the lower players. It should be equal for everyone. =/

Anyway, Loved the item shop in Mario Party 3, I believe the 3rd had the best items out of all Mario Parties.

I'm fine with whatever system they're doing for the time being, but I liked it when the items were all out and prices were equal to everyone regardless of rank. So the old Parties had shops better than the newer Parties, in my opinion.

I think we should return with Item shops. They are a lot less complicated thatn orbs are.

OMg i lovved the discounts! reminds of shopping when you see like a 50% off sign and your all like "OMG i HAVE to buy something" lol

I like the item shops because they were reasonable most of the time. The only issue I had was with mario party 5 and the orbs: you get the orbs for free, but you have to pay to use them? Yeah, it's backwards.

I always missed the shops that were in the older games if they brought them back it would be a lot better. But that's just my opinion.

I think they Should Show every item avaiable in the Game and NO they should NOT stop the Discounts they're actually strategic if you use 'em right.

I like it how in Mario Party 6 shop keepers have a GameCube hidden there.

The old school item shop of Mario Party 2-4 was great. I think Mario Party 3 was just about perfect when it cames to items, I don't understand why they messed with that formula and ultimately ruined it.

I liked the Item shops back then as well. They just rig the new ones so the losers can win. I hate when the shop gives discounts that play a big factor to the player in first.

Yea the discount thing is pretty cheap, it's one of the many thing that made later MPs, mainly MP8, not as dependent on skill as it should be.

I like the shop back in the classics MPs. Like you all said choosing any item is pretty good. Choosing 3 items in MP8 was okay but wish you had more options.

Definitely bring back the old Mario Party shop system from Mario Party 3. I really dislike how you can only choose up to three items every time you go to a shop in the newer ones.

Um, actually, it's unfair that there discounts for everyone in last. That's not strategic, it's just unfair luck. How will it be unfair if everyone had to pay the same? That doesn't mean sense. =/

so what if it's unfair it's not like nintendo will get rid of discounts just cuz you guys said it's "unfair" srsly it's no fun and doesn't really make a difference in sales i say keep the discounts if someone's in last place and is low on coins then THAT'S the reason why they nade discounts so they won't end up having to buy something useless and trust me I had that problem a lot often in MP4.

Well, if that's Nintendo's additude, then no will get Mario Party and that gives less of a reason to make more, I bet we're not the only ones who complained. And that didn't effect anyone's attitude in the First 5 Mario Parties, skilled Mario Party players can come out of a situtation WITHOUT discounts, unless your just not skilled enough to deal with it. =P

Discounts just give another reason that people who aren't skilled can play Mario Party...

Now that I think about, keep (random) discounts, but also bring back the amount of available items from Mario Party 4.

The discounts shouldn't be for every single item, maybe have two kinds of discounts, the price for half of the items are cut half and the other one cuts every items' prices in half.

No discounts on items man, if you need discounts then you obviously aren't winning much minigames and stuff so the blame is on you. And MP4's item shop sucked not only cause of the availability randomness, but also cause the items were whack.
