Change in the Title?

I was possibly thinking about a numbered title with new subtitle. Example (using SZ's post examples) could be Mario Party 9: Galactic Bash. I would think that purists would dislike this, but this nomenclature would be aesthetically more pleasing than something only like Mario Party 3DS...

Do you think its time for Mario Party to lose the numbers and start going with different titles (ex. Mario Party : The Ancient Dice Block :p or Mario Party Galaxy)? Maybe keep the numbers but add the extra title?

Me, I would rather keep the numbers going for each game. I just want to know if someone thinks differently and why.
So, you took a title I made back in 2009 eh? I think that the number will stay because it will follow the number tradition or something. :p

When people start titling stuff, then everything gets screwed up. Just look at Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, and Sonic. However, MP doesn't really have a storyline anyways, so meh, it can go either ways.

I think they should keep the numbers but maybe once they should add something that match the Story mode.
Like this: if they have a Story Mode with koopalings they could call it; Mario Party 9: Koopaling Battles. Maybe it would be a good idea.

Kooplings?! NO! The Kooplings should stay FAR away from the Mario Party series. If anything, we need Baby Bowser.

If so, I think they should do it for the other games too.
"Mario Party: Quest for the Superstar", "Mario Party 2: Havoc in Mario Land", "Mario Party 3: Star of the Millenium", "Mario Party 4: Party of the Ages", "Mario Party 5: Assault on the Dream Depot", "Mario Party 6: Partying Day and Night", "Mario Party 7: Vacation of Horror", "Mario Party Advance: Rampage in Shroom City", "Mario Party 8: Fierce Battle at the Star Carnival", and last but not least, "Mario Party DS: Shrunken Mania"!

What? People too content with the status quo?

Perhaps if these titles were re-released, then...
As a side thought, titles could work better in Japanese, but in European languages, they'll sound clunky. Imagine saying "The Legend of the Millenium Star" in French or Italian, for example.

Me? I would say the numbers. It's original. Besides, Mario Party 1 in 1999, 2 in 2000, 3 in 2001, and so on until 8 in 2007. And now I thought 9 in 2008 or 2009. Wow. What's taking so long for the next Mario Party?
...O...K. Point being, you want to change the topic.

As a passing question, are there any major VG series that have subtitles for each new game in their franchise?

I understand the later games Like Mario Party 9 (possibly...) But why would they it to the old games?  It's pointless and not possible (Cuz most of the game are out of print)
