The Great Sea Collectibles – Paper Mario: The Origami King Guide

Our The Great Sea collectibles guide details every Toad, Not-Bottomless Hole, Collectible Treasure, and Block in Paper Mario: The Origami King.

If you need a step by step guide to completing the main objective in this area, check out our The Great Sea Walkthrough.

The Great Sea only has collectible treasures to find and nearly all of them can only be obtained after rescuing specific Toads on the different islands. The red marks on the map above show the locations of each collectible treasure marked by a Toad. The blue mark in the bottom right corner is also a treasure. Green marks don’t hold any collectible treasures.

The Great Sea Collectible Treasure Locations

Collectible Treasure #80: Speak to every Toad statue in The Great Sea. Statues can be found on every island except for the Sea Tower. This includes the Toad statue you talk to after completing all the rounds on Shuffle Island. Most of them are required to advance the story. Here’s a list of Toad statues:

  • 1 – Bonehead Island (inside skull)
  • 1 – Heart Island (top of path)
  • 1 – Spade Island (northern section)
  • 1 – Club Island (northern section)
  • 1 – Crescent Island (after lifting earth)
  • 1 – Mushroom Island (backyard)
  • 8 – Diamond Island (center, three trials, three lying Toad challenge, by bench)
  • 1 – Scuffle Island (complete all rounds)
  • 1 – Question Island (top of hill)
  • 1 – Hammer Island (northern section)

Collectible Treasure #81: Speak with the Toad on Bonehead Island and he’ll mark an X in quadrant E5 on your map. Sail over to the location and position yourself within the ring of rocks and dive to find a chest underwater. Treasure is inside!

Collectible Treasure #82: Speak with the Toad inside the treasure chest on Heart Island and he’ll mark an X between quadrants DE and D3 on your map. Sail over to the location and dive to find a chest underwater on the left side of the seabed.

Collectible Treasure #83: Speak with the Toad you rescued from the barrel on Spade Island and he’ll mark an X in quadrant 2D on your map. Sail over to the location and dive to find a chest being carried by four Bloopers up above the seabed.

Collectible Treasure #84: Speak will all four Toads on Club Island and they’ll mark an X in quadrant G3 on your map. Sail over to the location and dive to find a chest underwater.

Collectible Treasure #85: Speak with the Toad you fish out of the water on Crescent Moon Island and he’ll mark an X in quadrant B3 on your map. Sail over to the location and dive to find a chest underwater on the right side of the seabed.

Collectible Treasure #86: Once you can access the backyard on Mushroom Island by using the Mushroom Handle found on Crescent Moon Island, walk to the left and to find a flopping blue fish. It’s a Toad. He’ll mark an X in quadrant D6 on your map. Destroy the rock on the left side to reveal the chest.

Collectible Treasure #87: Head to Question Island and rescue the Toad hiding as a sign in front of the Toad statue. He’ll mark an X in quadrant F6 on your map. Look for a group of Bloopers carrying the chest.

Collectible Treasure #88: Rescue the Toad on Hammer Island by whacking the hole on the path. He’ll mark an X treasure in quadrant A1 on your map. The treasure chest is one the left side.

Collectible Treasure #89: There’s one collectible treasure that you simply have to dive down to get without having it marked on your map by a Toad. There’s actually a Shy Guy out in the sea that’ll give you a tip about this treasure. Go to quadrant G7 and place yourself between the eyes of the Blooper on the map. There you’ll find an arch in the shape of Blooper. Dive there to find the treasure chest being carried by a group of Bloopers.

you do have prior knowlede of the blooper treasure as somewhere in the ocean on a rock a shy guy if i remember correctly mentions it almost directly as if a clue to go to the blooper on the map. he mentions of a coral reef in the shape of said squid, and where are coral reefs, or coral for that matter? under the ocean, so simply just diving around the blooper figure nabbed me the figurine without this guide, notably being sensible to dive right in the middle first. sorry to make this so long, but please dont forget… Read more »

you do not have to beat every paper macho enemy in scuffle island to meet the shangri spa toad. the toad is used to give you coins, meaning after beating 1-7 paper macho enimies you can have acess to the scuffle island toad
