Secret Exit Locations – New Super Luigi U Guide

Use our walkthrough to find every secret exit and hidden level in New Super Luigi U to unlock secret levels and alternate paths.

Several levels in New Super Luigi U feature alternate exits that not only offer an additional way to clear a level but also unlock a hidden or even a secret world. Some also lead to Mushroom Houses. Not as rewarding, but still important to reach if you’re going for 100% completion! There are 12 secret exits in all.

Acorn Plains-2: Crooked Cavern

This secret exit opens a path to Acorn Plains-Secret: Cheep Chomp Chase.

Just like you did for the third Star Coin, use Squirrel Luigi to glide to the pipe that leads to the end of the level. Instead of going into the pipe, ground pound the floor to crash through brick blocks. Follow the arrow signs to another pipe that leads to the secret exit!

Layer-Cake Desert-4: The Walls Have Eyes

This secret exit opens a path to Layer-Cake Desert-Secret: Slippery Rope Ladders.

After the beanstalk that leads to the second Star Coin is a small area with a tiny green pipe to the right. Ground pound this area to discover a hidden pipe that will blast you into the sky. Hop onto the giant stone heads and you’ll reach the secret exit.

Sparkling Waters-Ghost House: Haunted Cargo Hold

This secret exit opens a path to Sparkling Waters-Secret: Beanstalk Jungle.

Instead of entering the green pipe at the end the inside of the ship, drop into the water and find a hidden red pipe in the right wall. This will lead to the secret exit!

Frosted Glacier-Ghost House: Peek-a-Boo Ghost House

This secret exit opens a path to Frosted Glacier-Secret: Fliprus Floes.

Stand on the platform where the second Star Coin is found, leap into the wall to left and continue walking behind the wall until you reach a hidden area with a green door. After entering, quickly hop onto the blocks and jump for the flagpole. This area also has the third Star Coin.

Soda Jungle-2: Dancing Blocks, Poison Swamp

This secret exit opens a path to Soda Jungle-6: Sumo Bro Bridge.

Ground pound the last set of dipping brick blocks to hit the Question Block underneath. A switch will appear on the extending branch. Smash it to form a row of brick blocks leading to the pipe hiding behind the roots. The pipe will lead you to the secret flagpole.

Soda Jungle-Ghost House: Boo’s Favorite Haunt

This secret exit opens a path to Soda Jungle-Secret: Para-Beetle Parade.

Instead of entering the door that takes you to the normal exit, use Squirrel Luigi to glide to the right where another door can be found. This is also where the third Star Coin is at! Enter it to find the secret flagpole.

Soda Jungle-4: Painted Pipeworks

This secret exit opens a path to Soda Jungle-7: Wiggler Floodlands.

Instead of hopping onto the normal flagpole at the end of the level, jump onto the side of the swinging blue pipe and use it as a platform to reach the red pipe. This next room contains the secret exit.

Soda Jungle-5: Deepsea Stone-Eyes

This secret exit opens a path to Soda Jungle-7: Wiggler Floodlands.

Instead of entering the green pipe at the start of the level, head over to the stone head on the right and have it slide over to the right. Follow this path to the secret flagpole at the end!

Rock-Candy Mines-Tower: Smashing-Stone Tower

This secret exit opens a path to Rock-Candy Mines-5: Rising Piranhas.

Just before the door that leads to the boss is a pipe on the left. This will take you a secret room. Ground pound under the Star Coin to find a secret pipe that will blast you to the top of the castle. The secret flagpole can be found here!

Rock-Candy Mines-5: Rising Piranhas

This secret exit opens a path to Rock-Candy Mines-6: Spine Coaster Stowaways.

Super Acorn required. Reach the first two Super Piranha Plant rising up and down on tiny platforms. Use a nearby Koopa Shell to defeat either Super Piranha Plant, then hop on the platform in your Squirrel form. Once the platform reaches the top, jump and boost to hidden area above the Question Blocks to warp to a secret area. The secret exit is just at the end of this small section.

Alternatively, if you do not have the Acorn Mushroom and you are not at your lowest health, you can jump onto the rising platform that the Super Piranha Plant is on and take damage. You should have enough post-damage invincibility to ride it high enough to reach the ledge.

Meringue Clouds-Ghost House: Vanishing Ghost House

This secret exit opens a path to Meringue Clouds-Castle: Ludwig’s Block-Press Castle.

Once the first main platform drops, jump to the left instead of the right. Here you will find a door that leads to the secret exit.

Peach’s Castle-1: Magma Moat

This secret exit opens a path to Peach’s Castle-1: Magma Moat.

There is a section where a single line of brick blocks float above three other brick blocks. Wait for the fireballs to create an opening, then jump up and enter a hidden area in the wall on the right. Enter the pipe to get to the secret exit!
