Hammer Bro. was first seen in the Mario Party series in Mario Party. He appeared in many mini-games, usually on a cloud tossing hammers and/or coins. Hammer Bro. first became playable in Mario Party 8. You had to duel him in Bowser’s Warped Orbit to make him playable. He became a boss in Mario Party DS.

Hammer Bros. (or Hammer Brothers) are a species of Koopa that stand upright and throw hammers at passers-by. They have been around since Super Mario Bros.. They have bigger shells than normal Koopas and wear headgear. They can also use special hammers to shrink their enemies. Hammer Bros. have many times been described as the most elite fighters in Bowser’s Koopa Army. These enemies were originally designed by Kazuaki Morita.
