Unless you have been living under a rock for the last month or so, you know about the situation we are having here about the sex jokes. We have had topic after topic about the subject yet no one has come to a compromise that would leave the members happy or at least satisfied. As Admin I'm making a decision on what to do and that's the way it's going to be. If you don't like it, live with it. If you can't, then I don't know what to tell you but there won't be any more topics made about this anymore.
I read a bunch of the topics and here is what I think. This is a forum on Mario Party which is a topic that is targeted to all ages including those under the age of 13. There is nothing wrong with having the forum "family friendly" but the way I see it is that if everyone cannot express themselves the way they want, only those who can will stay and those who can't will leave which in this case would be the younger members staying who cannot take a joke every once in a while. Most of us are older than that and we should be targeting the teenage group which is a group better for forums and maturity. For this reason I think that the age limit of the forum should be at least 13. I am going to have an age checker for the registration so that every member from here on out is required to be at least 13.
So to sum that up, I am allowing sex jokes... BUT!
We do have a handful of members who do not like them and others who would just rather not have them around regardless of age and maturity. Before some of the newer members that registered this year, we were a forum where we really didn't have any sex jokes. Nobody was used to them becuase nobody used them, at least when we were here at the forum. It was kind of a shock when some new members came about and posted a few sex jokes. It was just something we were not used to seeing. As a result we had a lot of controversy that soon led to fighting and a few members leaving. We obviously don't want those last three things so what can I do about those who still object to the sex jokes?
I find that we all just need respect for each other. Respect for those who don't like seeing the jokes and respect for those who do like them and like to post them.
If you are someone who doesn't like them and you see a sex joke, try to either ignore and continue posting or maybe even reply to the joke in a positive way. Who knows, you might actually think the joke is funny.
If you are someone who does like the sex jokes and you are the one posting them, try thinking twice before posting it. Try to put yourself in another member's position and view and you might just be offended by your own joke. You don't have to even do that just don't reply to a person who doesn't like the jokes with a sex joke.
In truth, I'm not putting a limit on the amount of sex jokes there can be. This is something I want those who post them to make the decision about how many they post. I just want everyone to get along and everyone needs to make an effort to do so.
And on a side note, anything really nasty or just plain discuwting won't be tolerated. I'm okay with jokes but to an extent.
So this is the compromise I have come to. Like I said before, if you don't like it, tough luck, becuase we really have to move on and past this. The fighting just has to stop. As much as I'd like to defend one side becuase of this and the other side becuase of that, we just need to meet somewhere in the middle and call it a day.
And what happened to "behave"
. I had to get on here during Lent (which is only 31 more days ).
