Mario Super Sluggers was a game for the Nintendo Wii released in 2008. It was a sequel to the GameCube game Mario Superstar Baseball (2005). Both games are Spin-off titles revolving around creating teams of your favorite Mario Characters and going head-to-head against other Characters in Baseball tournaments. Each character got Special Custom Bats and some even had their own moves. These games were not incredibly popular but still positively praised for the cheery playful tone and family-friendly gameplay most Mario titles have.
Super Sluggers is mostly known for being the last game many characters such as Toadette, Baby Luigi, Baby Daisy, King K. Rool and various Kongs have ever appeared in, most never being mentioned in other games again. August 25th marks the 4 year anniversary the games came out in the US (the latest recieving date) and 4 years of these characters being missing.

Out of all these characters, I miss Toadette the most (obviously). While she wasn't useful or important to the series, she was a character enjoyed by many and overall fun to play as. Personally, I like her because she's a female version of a character I cherished in my childhood, and I really appreciate Female Characters. Also, she was the only playable Female Character (excluding Birdo, who's true gender remains unknown) who wasn't a Princess. She was cute, cuddly, and fun, but her time has come and gone. She most likely will not return because she was probably a character just built for the GameCube/Early DS & Wii era, plus it's been so long it'd just be awkward putting her in a new game randomly. Although I would cream my pantaloons if she did come back.
