To make things short here is what changed:
The Rules
The Rules have been updated going a little more in depth in each category. If you seem to have lost a lot of posts, I suggest rereading these Rules.
The Safe
The Safe has been split up into 4 Categories so that each category from the Forum gets its own Safe, making it easier to find older topics and much more organized. There is a Forum Games Safe that does not count posts as a child board of F/S Safe. We found some old Forum Games that were sitting in the Safe and were being counted as posts. These were moved to the Forum Games Safe so some of you may see a post decrease from this.
Spam Posts
Posts were deleted so some of you may notice a post decrease.
There was a lot of spam posts throughout the Forum and we tried to get all of them deleted or Warned through Post. The most important of these were the Mario Party boards and Serious Discussion board which I took care of myself. The Mario Party boards did have a lot of Spam posts where it was always the same three members doing the spamming. Everyone else did fine. In the Future MP Board, there were a lot of one time posters taht I din't even bother with.
The same for Serious Discussion. It was always the same two people I was deleting the posts from. There were a few others who posted spam but it was an every topic thing. We also updated the Rules of the SD board, so plese check that out.
Serious Discussion
The Serious Discussion board is now a membergroup only board. If you want to get in, go to your Profile and select "Group Membership". From there select the Serious Discussion board and we will check your posts on the Forum to see if you are good enough to get in. These members are already in the board:
Amatatomba
Basil of Pinelawn Road
Berrylarry200
Chubbo
Comrade Krasniy
cookieboy17
kinetic563
kingboo
madstarr
Ryoux0
Snowy The Czar
Spirit_of_Water
Sushi Boy
Forum Games
The original reason we took the board down was because of the lack of activity in the other boards of the Forum. We no longer have this problem but we are not getting this board up until we see an improvement in posts. So no Spam from anyone.
Moderation Center
The Moderation Center has been added and will be used by the staff to easily keep track of users and reported posts. We are also going to start using a Warning Level system. For more information, please see the Rules. On a side note, the Mod Board has a new topic on how to mod so newcomers and old mods alike please check it out.
Forum Upgraded
The Forum was updated to the newest upgrade and as a result, we are able to use mods that only support the newest version of SMF. As a result, some of the older themes (blue, green) may look a bit weird in places, that is because the files for the theme are for the older version of SMF. We will be getting this fixed soon. Along with the upgrade came the Curve theme so you can check that out.
Permissions
Some permissions were changed for Mods and Gmods. If you have any questions please ask at the Mod Board.
The Staff
And of course, the one everyone was waiting for, saved for last.
We decided to have kingboo and Yoshi1 demoded and we will have new mods take their place. Berrylarry is staying on the Staff team but will be assisted in modding the Mario Party boards with a new mod. Aegis has been promoted to Gmod and a new mod will take his place. Here is what it will look like :
Mario Party Boards: Berrylarry and Sushi Boy (new)
Video Games: Ryoux0 (new)
General and Serious Discussion: JxT
Forum/Site: Chubbo (new)
G-MODs: MLYW, Sir Mario, Aegis (promoted)
And both VSM and H-J will have full administration roles. This will make it a little more easier and more time for SZ to work on the website.
So there you have it. We spent a lot of time working so try to appreciate what we did. All three of us Admins have been up since early morning until now working. It was a pain.
If I forgot to mention anything, one of the Admins can add on.
