The Anything Thread

Going out to a Brawl tourney on Saturday.... Too excited! Been too long since I went to last one (in October...) :p
I feel so determined & energetic! And I think I'll literally cry tears of joy when I see my fellow Smashers again... :')
I'm mainly going to use Ness, but I'll try to use my Yoshi in friendlies. It's just that I'm much more confident in my Ness than Yoshi. =P

That's a lot of hate, considering SmashBoards players are WAY worse than here lol
 
@Sean: I'm guessing you have a bad history with Ness or it involves me lol

Not to get all defensive on Smashboards/SWF or start a war here, but the Smash community is actually pretty nice. Yeah the forum at times gets crazy, but I just don't get involved in the drama and the forum itself is good IMO.
And the people you meet IRL from the Smash community are pretty cool as well. Just saying. =P

Seriously, they ban almost everything.
 
Yeah sometimes they go a bit far with the banning (like MK, he's not as broken as everyone thinks...), but aside from MK being banned, I think the community banned what was needed to be banned for competitive Brawl lol
Though I really think they should change the stalling rule by chaingrabbing/infiniting. Why is the limit 300%, you shouldn't have your foe survive beyond like 180% anyway and the characters that can chaingrab/infinite are already good at killing lol (I think chaingrabs should stop after like 150-175% :p)
Too bad there's no option to disable random tripping though, that thing gets on EVERYONE'S NERVES.

That's the problem though. I'm perfectly okay without items being on (hate 'em), but why put on so many damn rules? I just hate those kind of competitive sessions where they have to be too damn specific about specs and shit.

I'll do agree, some items shoud be kept on while some should be turned off but of course turn off smash ball. :p

He's in a tier by himself, no sympathy should come for him. Plus only a few characters have a chance of beating him which is unfair.>_>
 
People can play brawl however they want to. I understand some people don't playing "competitively", but the solution is just don't play with people who do it that way, that's pretty much it lol. I play the game how I want, so if my style is competitive, that's just how it is. Though, I am perfectly fine with items or without, I'm not super serious in that regard of rules, I just like to play that way because it's more intense.

Meta Knight is pretty cheap, I mean he's not perfect, but he can counter a huge chunk of the cast LOL

You're not going into a blind situation, you know X -> Y with correlation and causality so don't act blind and/or naive

Also I don't understand how people don't like other people yet love to be around them
That's what happen at my college and it irks my nerves
You love to get stressed point-blank period.

If you like to play one way, play with a set of people like that
I know it's rare or hard to find people like that so we're in a split dilemma (2 Levels)
I haven't played Brawl so I wouldn't know
 
I have never have been to a brawl tourney but I know how they work. They exclude a ton of things such as stages that look okay for competition. I brawl with items on and sometimes off, depends on my mood I guess. I can see why they banned items, I find them fun. I find their bannings absurd, Meta Knight and items I understand though. I myself perfer to play for fun, not competition.

I think I'm developing cold :(
