Super Mario Maker

Am I the only one that's super hyped for this game?
Now we don't need stuff like Reggie---this game has it all! :D
Can't wait!!!
I'm not a huge fanatic of building things (even though I love math/engineering), but I don't care!
But yeah, Nintendo should do something besides this for a 30th anniversary. (SMG3 would be nice)
E3 better be spectacular this year! ;)

I'm actually not that excited for this game because this is basically a nintendo licensed version of this http://fusoya.eludevisibility.org/lm/ with less features. Though Mario Maker will probably be very easier to use.

Isn't LM restricted to SMW engine though? Granted it is incredibly powerful when you have things like TSRPR series

Yes, but it has partial support for Super Mario: All-Stars.

But really, would you rather pay for a standard level maker and be able to make levels in different styles or have a download for free SMW rom editor that probably has way more features?

Galaxy 3 would be awful.
Super Mario 64 and Sunshine are way better games than Galaxy, neither have gotten sequels.
I would be incredibly disappointed if they made a 3rd Galaxy.
Making a second one looked like they were stretched for ideas on the 3D platformers.

Where can you go from space, really?

Not that into a game that is just for stage creating. I'd rather have a new big adventure for Mario's 30th anniversary but....I'm sorry guys but I don't like this game at all :/

I'm not the best at creating things (even though at times I am creative), but I'd like to try it or see the final product in action first before I buy it.
It's a game for people who want to create custom Mario levels, and it's not pretending to be anything bigger. The concept is a decade overdue lol.

Sometimes too much power can be overwhelming, you know, even if it is free =p

Also an officially supported level maker will eventually overtake the size of the SMW hacking community purely on the basis o Mario Maker being business and LM not being so. Remember the two products support entirely different demographics: I wouldn't expect the not-so-tech-savvy group of Mario fans to jump like Marios to 1-Ups at LM, and I don't expect ambitious project creators to consider MM their engine of choice. When you're comparing apples and oranges, it's a bit silly to expect people to answer your question without laughing a bit. =p

(Also the legal grey/black? area of obtaining a rom of SMW in the first place.)

You might be right, but I expect smwcentral.net to be flooded with new users when MM comes out and when they search "custom mario levels."

Maybe Mario Maker is just for people who want to make their own Mario level. If they want to make an entire game, they should go for Lunar Magic.

And about the "legal" stuff... Yeah i'm not even going to try to respond to that.

Well, a Best Buy Community Coordinator is saying that Mario Maker will be released in Canada on Friday, September 11, 2015. If the date is the same for the United States, then that's good for me as that's on the week of my birthday. But wow, September 11...

At least it's not Star Fox. Nintendo of America and the world know what happened 14 years ago on that date...

I'm not sure if I would get this game but level creators can be fun. With Bowser Jr and a spiny power up along with some other things it's good to hear there is some new content. Hopefully they include more things such as more characters, I don't even think Luigi was confirmed though there's that Luigi Mushroom. If I get this, I'd probably make both very difficult levels and unusual ones.

As for a release date, I'd say either a September or October release is likely.

Nintendo has pegged for a September release, honoring the 30th anniversary for Super Mario Bros. That game was released in Japan in September 1985.

Oh I see thank you. I forgot Super Mario Bros was released that month in Japan, now it makes more sense for them to aim for that month if possible, celebration reasons. I believe it was released in North America somewhere in October, so should Nintendo of America aim for that month? I'm fine with waiting another month if I get the game.

I think Nintendo wants a worldwide release for Mario Maker, and don't want North America, Europe, and Australia missing out during the waiting period. No one even knows the true release date for Super Mario Bros. for North America.

Hmm... Well, that's interesting.
But it makes sense, the original Super Mario Bros. released September 13, 1985 in Japan.

Either way, I'll be getting it on the 26th.

September 13 falls on a Sunday in 2015, so that Friday is the closest they could release the game.
