Microsoft Game Studios CEO Phil Spencer had something interesting to say.

@XboxP3 Nintendo is holding a poll for the next Smash Bros DLC, and Banjo is a popular choice! It would mean so much if you could get him in

@PedroDarkinson I think it would be cool if Banjo was in the next SSB DLC.  We've worked with Nintendo on Rare IP before, no issues.

The actual page itself says "your favorite video-game character", and I doubt most people going to see the specific Facebook post about it only being Nintendo characters.

I think if Nintendo wanted to they could negotiate the rights with Microsoft and Rare to include Banjo. I'd rather have a good character in then some stupid one like Daisy, Toad, Ridley or Waddle Dee.

I want to assure you that you are able to submit any video-game character for this ballot. While we are unable to guarantee your suggested character will become a Super Smash Bros. Fighter, rest assured, we do take all feedback into consideration.

This means characters like Rayman and Banjo still have chances.
