Speedruns/Freeruns

Have you ever been doing Speedruns or Freeruns in levels?

Speedruns - Finishing a level/the full game as fast as possible using shortcuts
Freeruns - Having fun on a level doing random things, then getting the star, still having fun.

I've been doing speedruns and freeruns both on SMG2, but I've done speedruns more recently.

Speedruns are a waste of time for me I'll never get anything out of it so why do it?

Speed runs aren't really worth it, although I did try to attempt a speed run in Banjo-Kazooie and DK 64, but that was a long time ago.

A freerun  just sounds like fooling around and nothing like a speedrun. Speedruns are kinda pointless though I do enjoy watching them.

We have the choice of whether to discuss both or one subject of the topic.

Free-runs are quite silly, and are a huge waste of time.

Isn't everyone's first run of any game a freerun?

I've completed some games as a speed run, me an' my friend raced in FFXIII and FFVII: Crisis Core.

I've done some speed runs on two games. Obviously one was Wind Waker while the other was Corruption.

I've done a few freeruns on some stages in some games just because I felt like it.

I gave one attempt at a speedrun, but figured "Why bother?".

Not really. Death-runs, you take the time to be careful not to die for any reason. Watch your health gauge carefully.
