I saw this posted on another board. It's just a rumor for now (time will tell), but it sounds like it'd be kinda cool. Click here for details. Here are the tweets from Nsider_mag:

You're basing a rumor from NSIDER and NINTENDO LIFE?

Haha. Those are, like, the two cesspools of major rumor breaks.
 
Guys, be careful that what you say doesn't give another user the potential to start unnecessary arguments.
Shaby, avoid using CAPS as that symbolises anger. The :mad: didn't help the post.
Cook, thanks for pointing out the correction, but you could have then contributed to the topic (I know you already posted, but you could have added some more info in that first reply post).

Mario_Comix, try to stay within the boundaries of the topic. Telling everyone that SMG does take place outside the Mushroom Kingdom should only constitute a minor part of your post; stick to the discussion topic.

Now, for my own point on this topic:

There may indeed be a possibility for a Sonic-like character to appear in SMG2, provided that Sega specifically requested Nintendo to insert Sonic in SMG2. (However, that isn't likely since Sega have STH4:Ep1 do deal with, which will publicize Sonic far more than a cameo in SMG2).

As to a playable Sonic, I disagree to the idea. There is no point including a character that is as third-party to the Mario series as Sonic, just for the sake of playability when Sonic has nearly no bearing story-wise.

As for rumors from the UK, they're rumors til proven. I'll wait and see, but not hoping for anything shocking in the near future.

Aegis: Pretty sure you're just overreacting. Shaby using that smiley doesn't techinally mean that he was angry. He could have been annoyed or he was just defending the statement. :p

If Sonic had a minor cameo in it, I wouldn't mind. But if he was a Playable, then I would lose respect for the game.
 
Trust me dude, there's nothing more that can be said about this topic than "what are you smoking buddy." You know, just cause I didn't type up much doesn't mean it's not a legit post. Unless you want me to make a ridiculous predictions like this guy is and say something like Kirby is gonna be one of the bosses in SMG2.

YOU DEFEAT KIRBY BY GETTING THE ULTIMA WEAPON FROM PLANET ZEBES WHERE YOU MEET SORA, RIKU, AND THAT DUDE FROM BIOSHOCK FOR SOME REASON. :p
