Shovel Knight amiibo

This report from Nintendo Life, says several unnamed sources are telling them Shovel Knight is coming to Super Smash Bros., as well as an amiibo.

Plus, here's what Yacht Club Games has said.
Yacht Club Games said:
We've heard the cries of bringing more exclusive content to Nintendo platforms. It might not be quite what you expect… but keep an eye out for another MEGATON announcement soon!

The Plague of Shadows DLC for Shovel Knight is being shown at PAX, and Nintendo is apparently showcasing Smash as well.
Spanish Retailer XtraLife using "Smashified" artwork, may have just been a placeholder.

I really hope Shovel Knight comes to Smash.

UPDATE: The writer for Nintendo Life is the guy who runs Unseen64, who are almost never wrong when it comes to stuff like this.

I doubt it's real, but I doubt that every rumor is real, so take it with a grain of salt. I personally don't want SK in Smash; he's been in one game, (an indie game funded on Kickstarter, no less), and he's hardly even a Nintendo character.
So?
Ryu, Mega Man, Sonic and Pac-Man aren't Nintendo characters.
There's nothing wrong with games funded by Kickstarters.
Shovel Knight was ridiculously popular on the eShop.

So now, Shovel Knight once again, for now anyway, won't be coming to Smash.
However, this is a new revelation, Nintendo has opened up for non-First Party amiibo!
Shovel Knight's amiibo will work in the Wii U and 3DS versions of Shovel Knight, and future Yacht Club Games titles on Nintendo consoles.

UPDATE: German retailer 4u2play is now listing it as well.

I'm very interested in buying a Shovel Knight amiibo. I'm glad there will be one. I'm looking forward to it's release. I wonder what they will do for the Wii U and 3DS version of Shovel Knight. I'm not really sure what it could do but maybe a Nintendo themed relic will be given after completion of an amiibo level? Could be something interesting. I'm sure Yacht Club will come up with something.

As for his chance in Smash, I doubt this amiibo confirms or denies his appearance and chance as a playable fighter. While I'd love to see him in Smash, he doesn't have much chance unless they consider an indie fighter. I don't mind if he's not in.

Yup, all this is real.

Just because Shovel Knight got an amiibo figure, it will not affect his chances of getting into Smash. Plus, this Shovel Knight figure does not have a Smash logo.

AbsolPowers, you have no excuses whatsoever if you can't get your hands on one.

EDIT: Reveal Trailer!
