Should Rare Reunite With Nintendo?

I think you guys are completely forgetting Rare's predecessor, Ultimate Play The Game. Most of the ZX Spectrum games they made were some of the best games on my library.

So yeah, Rare has made some great games without the influence from Nintendo. Just look at Atic Atac or Knight Lore.

Regardless, if the whole company dynamic has changed since that old era, then it's pointless and almost unlikely for Rare to clamber on their own one foot.

They seem to need affiliation now.

Why does Rare need to be bought out in order to be successful? To be honest, if Nintendo stuck with Rare today, there still would have been disappointment games like Nuts and Bolts. The developers of the game wanted to take Banjo into a new direction, and so they did it with the style present today. Still wouldn't have changed anything.

I haven't played Knight Lore, but I do have Monster Max (for the Gameboy) and it's either the exact same game or the exact same formula (haven't played Lore to know any level layouts), but Monster Max be fantastic. And by the looks of youtube videos of Knight Lore, Monster Max runs a lot smoother but Lore does have some awesome colors :p

I never really played any Rare games from what I know(besides a few Star Fox and some Donkey Kong games). That's about it.

But where I stand, I could care less if they reunited with Nintendo or not.

No. It was when Chris and Tim Stamper left, along with the rest of the N64 era staff.

Microsoft just put fuel in a fire.

Rare's just gotta fork over the rights to like the Banjo series or even some good ol DKR to another company that can attempt to make some good games with it.

Crash Bandicoot, Spyro The Dragon, and Ninja Gaiden did the same thing.

Looked what happened to them.

Rare ought to give the Banjo series to Retro, since they are the closest company to n64 style Rare right now.

Just because they made ONE Donkey Kong Country game doesn't mean they should revive every N64 Rare franchise.

Plus, they are better known for games (and it's their entire library so far) like Metroid Prime. Metroid wasn't made by Rare.
